How rigorous the screenings were? He lied about being in contact with someone with ebola. The screenings rely on people being honest. Not very rigorous.

So are we my friend, so are we. The sick man is a liar. While exhibiting symptoms, he withheld information about handling an Ebola victim in Liberia before arriving to the US, and then exposed his “lady friend” and her daughter to the Ebola virus. Not to mention the people in the community, hospital, airports, plane, etc.
Sorry, but this guy can rot as far as I’m concerned.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
