God Save Us from the Loud 'I'm Staying Home This Year' Conservatives

By Jim Geraghty

A few thoughts from the middle of the day . . .

God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.

Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.

....

Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."

"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."

"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."

The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.

I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.

Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

1. Government taxes citizens regardless of their views on baby killing.

2. Government takes mountains of tax $$$$ and hands same over to Planned Barrenhood and similar baby killing operations.

3. Planned Barrenhood and similar operations kill massive numbers of babies many with those government subsidies.

4. Not just Demonrats but Demonrats in GOP drag support abortion and these subsidies to the killers. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mark Nancyboy Kirk, supine Southern senators such as LAMAR!!! Alexander, Bob Corker, Thad Cockroach and others who have never seen a government subsidy that did not sexually excite them. Uniformly, they eagerly supported Myth Romney, their crony and he was theirs.

5. Someone has to dispose of all those murdered babies. If they were to just pile up in the dumpsters, there would be scandal giving baby killing a bad name. Voila! Harvard Business School's Mr. Wizard (Myth Romney) at their service as Stericycle. Away go baby corpses out of sight, out of mind and tax subsidies, laundered by Planned Barrenhood at al., through Stericycle to crony SOCIALIST pal Myth Romney and his fellow "investors."

6. Myth Romney IS a SLEAZEBAG and a CRONY SOCIALIST. Ron him again and get used to saying: Madame President. Myth can buy a GOP nomination but he cannot buy the votes of the base and we won't vote for him or anything like him.

Yeah, see that kind of attempted insult for shame's sake is as insipid as accusing anyone who disagrees with you ‘racists’.

When the GOPe stops performing fellatio on their Democratic Party friends across the aisle we can have a discussion.

Until then I can't hear a thing over the slurping.

Not that I owe the likes of you an explanation but I did not want your liberal-like slur to stand un-addressed.

What do you call it when you do it? I mean, you’ve got that whole “pot-kettle” thing going.

my on the ground observations of the paper tiger Mitt ... from 2008 and 2012 that were posted on my non-existent blog.

1. Fall 2007. Attended Mitt events in Keene NH spoke to many veteran politicos at events who all agreed that his effort that day appeared professional, yet lifeless. Poor presentation, no genuine interest in his supporters ... same with his staff. Polite, yet no zeal. Haughty as if they do not have to do the real grunt work of grassroots. No effort to talk to Mitt voters and see how they’d like to help. It was genuinely bizarre! Never seen anything like it before or since. Even incompetent campaigns seem to understand that they need to BUILD support and, yes, let people help and join up. It was as if they were filming a “MOVIE” about running for President. “Hold this sign and act like a volunteer ... thanks ... next time we come thru, we’ll call and have you show up again to hold a sign and pretend. We need good photo-ops for the local press.”

2. McCain came thru the next weekend with his fire and brimstone stump speech and a rag tag group of unpaid staffers. Unpaid, because he was broke. His mob of rural enthusiasts created a storm that easily buried Mitt in every small town in the western half of the state. How could they not, when the opponents were an office full of lifeless bores. (Go look at the town by town results and see the impressive margins run up against Mitt in some of those towns.}

3. The above was a harbinger of what Obama would do to the Romney effort in ‘12 in rural areas of Ohio, Virginia, Florida, etc. In fact, in New Hampshire primary which Mitt won in a landslide, the dynamics were the same! Western counties rejected Mitt and he never got the hang of it ... never cracked thru there. It was a repeat, except the anti—Romney vote was so split, as McCain populists joined up with RonPaul, and JonHuntsman worked the area thoroughly.
Romney dominated in the 2 suburban eastern counties just across the Mass border.

4. On to the 2012 Maine caucuses attended by a mere 8000. Expectation was that the Romney muscle would overwhelm the opposition in York County, south of Portland. A solid “identify and pull” effort would get the numbers to the caucus that would be insurmountable. But it never materialized! The expected 700-strong crowd in Sanford county-wide caucus was only 300 ... Romney himself showed up for the speech, competing with peculiar surrogates for Santorum and Newt.

90 miles from Boston and zero muscle in the Romney organization! They pulled out all the stops and they had nothing. Turns out they had to cheat a bit to get Mitt a statewide victory by 100 votes over Paulista amateurs.

4. What is my point? Fact is, if the opposition is really there ... with real opponents .... The Romney Castle will crumble in IA, NH, ME and ongoing ... anyplace that is not dominated by some Mormon mafia like Nevada or other handicap ...

Summary: if this crowd ain’t got what it takes to beat Mitty, they ain’t going anywhere as a political force anyway! He’s not Bush-1980 which was a genuine opponent, he’s weaker than Dole-1996, which was 3 days from being shipped back to Kansas.

We do face existential threat in America

Tyrants who are insubordinate to God make themselves gods. Thus the only thing we have to fear is God Himself.

Myth Romney may LOOK like Dudley Do Right with that square jaw and what not. Do not forget his ownership and executive authority at a business called Stericycle which was organized to remove the corpses of the aborted babies from abortion mills. In my book, at least, that does NOT make him a DECENT man.

As to Alinsky, read his books: Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals. See if you can identify among Alinsky's "useful idiots" the many roles of a windtunnel businessman like Romney, obsessed with his image and willing to do anything or pay anything to get the peace he craves from the radicals. Alinsky dediated one of those books to "Satan, the original radical." People like Romney are the essential enablers to the likes of the late Alinsky and his many eager followers, including the Arkansas Medusa and Obozo who is certainly everything you say.

McCain is simply an increasingly senile jerk without a principle to his name. I once admired him for his sufferings in the Hanoi Hilton but that's all over with now.

Exactly the point I was making.

(who promised to overturn obozocare)

He promised no such thing. His meme was repeal and replace. Since we had some idea of what he might replace it with, ie RomneyCare, most people didn't trust him.

We do not get a chance to repent until AFTER we suffer the calamities.

Oh?

I think folks can repent at any time they choose.

Typical FR rIno apologist thread for an election season. The vote for the gop propaganda comes in stages.

The first stage is appeals to reason.
The second stage is ridicule.
The third stage is threats.
The final stage is begging.

Looks like we’re in between the second and third stage. I reckon about 2 weeks till the begging begins in earnest.

I voted for Mitt Romney because he was not Barack Obama, not because he was my ideal candidate. I never voted for him in the primaries, and I hope he never runs again.

Mitt would have been blamed for the usual (homelessness, bad economy, weak impotent), but he was obviously going to be far less destructive of America than Obama.

Life is full of tough choices that ADULTS have to make.

I often wonder if this website has been polluted by a combination of one issue idiots and Soros Trolls.

Things have changed over the last 15 years, and they have been in the leftists favor.

Harry Reid and BHO thank you for your efforts at not voting for their opposition.

Agreed, however when it comes to nations and human nature - the biblical chronology is often exactly as II Chronicles 13 & 14 lay out.

A people usually are not willing to repent of wickedness before they are chastised.

Given the Osteenification of the church in America, the concept of repentance I am told is Old Testament and was replaced by Grace.

They can beg for our votes all they like.

We need to tell them to go pander to Mexicans and ‘Moderates’ for the votes they need since the GOP leadership believes Conservatives need to be run out of the party, replaced and declared to be an enemy to be ‘crushed’ and ‘punched in the nose’.

They clearly do not want us in their party - they have corrupted and rigged it so Conservatives cannot reform it from within (McConnell - “They will not be able to field a single candidate anywhere in the country”) - so we will vote Conservative by writing in Conservatives or voting third party until Conservatives find a new party to call home.

The GOP can pound sand until they either fold into the Democrat/MarxoFascist party or go the way of the Whigs.

Harry Reid and BHO thank you for your efforts at not voting for their opposition.

How was your vacation on that deserted Island for the past 6 years?

Unfortunately, you are ignorant of the fact that there is no opposition to Harry Reid and Obama in the GOP leadership outside of 3 individuals who have been marginalized by their own party.
