The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday confirmed the first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the United States.
This story is developing. Please check back for further updates
EBT card holders? It’s the end of the month so maybe they haven’t gone many places. Of course, they’ll be getting their October perks tomorrow so the CDC better show up at the house early before they go shopping.
What about Communion?
How can we keep Ebola out of the US when we can’t keep a Gonzales out of the White House?
I’d believe the local dog catcher before I believed any government official these days. This isn’t the America I once knew and loved.
It’s an October surprise because it’s a day early and still in September.
I bet the medical people are dreading this years flu season.
Well, for reference, Texas is 800 miles wide. Takes a day running fast to cross it. He may wanted to fly out of Lagos to get to Houston fast. We’ll find out soon enough.
It’s better for Texas that he went the Brussels route, but worse for Europe and VA/DC.
What I’m working on is the LIKELIHOOD of his route home. Not the possibilites.
He said 2-10 days in the next breath, so this tool is downplaying the severity here and the risk of Ebola being in the wild now.
And every hypochondriac in the country will be in the ED tomorrow sure they have Ebola. While those that really do have it will be home spreading it to others....
the time that elapses between the first Ebola case and the generation of secondary cases is about two weeks.
This should allow plenty of time to identify those who are sick and protect people who might come in contact with them.
People with Ebola are contagious and able to transmit the virus only when they are showing symptoms, which occurs about a week after they are exposed to the virus.
I could be confused on that part. Reading so much, hard to keep up. They did refuse to say if he was a citizen. Probably part of the plan too..get everyone unsure what is true and what is not..then administration can lie with abandon. They do it on every scandal..every crisis. They tell different media different things. Conflicting reports get published. Is it any wonder we are in constant state of uncertainty? God help us!
Health/life (and bookmark) BUMP! Great thread. Thanks.
And now we’re finding he came here from a funeral, which involves a lot of hugging and kissing of kinfolk upon landing.
This is pure math, and if the CDC can just give us the truth of his humanly wanderings from leaving Africa to final admission at Presby, we can calculate the precautions we need to take. We won’t have to panic. We can do our own vector risk analysis.
Pretty sure I read Ebola strain can survive 24 hours + on hard surfaces so very easy to transmit from an infected person... doorknobs, ATM buttons, shopping carts, fast food...
Not to mention the fact that he exposed an ambulance crew.
It worries me that he waited that long to seek treatment.
So now we have a full station of fire/ems personnel, maybe multiple ones if there were swing guys on duty that day or the next several days, their families, hospital personnel, their families, etc.
Should have first hand reports from that Dallas Fire/Ems station shortly.
I was channel surfing a couple of weeks ago and landed on The Doctors, a medical talkshow. They were talking about the Ebola outbreaks, US troops, and the potentiality for Ebola to transform and become airborn.
They didnt offer any solutions, but they seemed scared that a potential pandemic outbreak could occur in the US, due to the openness of travel in and out of the country.

Yes, the infected person coughs on there hand then the virus will be active for 24 hours.. Plenty of people it can be transmitted to on a commonly touched area. The media and CDC do not address this and this is what is criminal...
yep, we are two to three weeks from knowing if other cases are starting to pop up.
