The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday confirmed the first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in the United States.
This story is developing. Please check back for further updates
Now if I were paranoid I might think that terrorists loaded a bunch of ebola people on planes and sent them to airports. The gov got wind of some of them and shut down air flights as a precaution on pretext of a fire. ..........
Ok now you have scared the &^%&$ out of me. The whole day has been so overwhelming, don’t think I will sleep.
I am really afraid for our country.
Nobody's in isolation.
The contacts should be in quarantine, but, if they are, I bet it's "voluntary home quarantine".
IF - and I should emphasize, NOBODY knows what's about to happen, but IF cases start popping up among HCWs and their families in Texas, then the s*** is most definitely going to hit the fan.
No.
Although Nigeria and Sierra leone are OFF my bucket list.
I remember being in Miami when the Swine-flu “epidemic” was in the news. We switched from fist-pumps to elbow-bumps. But with Ebola, cross the street and wave! We are not ready for this.
I will pray for an asteroid strike.
Our favorite mexican restaurant is just a few blocks from there. Creepy. My wife works in a hospital in the Dallas area. Not Presby though.
there we go.
Brainwashed. I just talked to a normally sane family member that through her job comes into contact with people who have recently been to Africa. She is not in contact with them daily or in large numbers but is in contact with some. I told her I was concerned and she spouted the whole spiel about how hard it is to catch. She even joked about my concern. It is like the Twilight Zone or something, many just believe what they are told. Thank goodness she doesn’t live near me and I sure don’t plan to get-together with her any time soon either.
it seems a bit premature to me
Whatever the guy’s motives, the facility he took down was a major cog in the ATC system. Chicago is a major hub, O’Hare is one of the busiest airports in the world. A hiccup there affects flights nationwide. Not just stranded passengers, but aircraft and aircrew that aren’t where they’re needed to be elsewhere in the country. Thus people can’t get a flight to Dallas because the planes and crews are stuck somewhere that doesn’t connect.
How can that be?! Many on FR say we have the best health care in the world and will be all over this little virus. What - they thought he just had the flu?
I am thinking that he was not honest with the first set of healthcare workers that he saw.He most likely never told them that he recently came from Liberia. He probably was either in denial, or deliberately trying to spread the disease.
There was once a virus called Ebola,
It sat in wait in the Congola,
It killed a bunch of African peopola,
Got a ride to the US freeola,
Decided to mutate into one bad asshola, Now we wait for the SH*T TO HIT THE FANOLOA
“If it gets to the point where funeral homes are involved we are really screwed.”
I could not have expressed my concerns about this mess any better myself
He might have.
From Liberia according to AP. Allegedly left on September 19 and arrived in Dallas the next day to visit relatives and started to feel ill 4-5 days later.
It's a virtual certainty he went to the mall, theater, restaurants...
According to local news, the patient was taken by ambulance and the Dallas city ambulance personnel who transported him are in quarantine, per the mayor of Dallas, Mike Rawlings———————
Consider 5 guys ride an Ambulance, now in quarantine, according to the MAYOR. That’s just the ambulamps ride.
50 is not a high quarantine estimate.
It is natural to send out instructions before they are needed, it isn’t the kind of thing they delay until the emergency arises and then start mailing out.
Okay
All of the good secret service guys are already in the bunkers.
