The MSM here in DFW are playing down the spreadabilty of Ebola. Just now saying that people who traveled with this guy have no chance catching it.
I call BS.

There were a number of airports this guy could have been in and connecting flights including Germany, London, Amsterdam, Houston, and more cities in the USA.
The Govt. OWES us the TRUTH.

Given the nature of ER's in urban areas, the victim could have been waiting for some time on both his trips there. This means that the exposed people who sat next to him in ER either time, plus all the people who examined him. And anyone he coughed or sneezed at. Over a period of several hours on both occasions.
By not identifying the time frame of his ER waits, the hospital and CDC guarantee freak-outs by hundreds of people as opposed to a few dozen.

Just think, if this starts spreading, nobody will want to work in a hospital.

What a circus NC. Screw the “privacy” BS . . . was it a direct flight, if not, then what connections? Where did he go thru Customs? Does he have a job, if so did he work? Was he a student, if so, did he attend class? Where does he work, live, etc?
I sure as hell would want to know this. What if I worked at airport? Or at the med facility he went to first supposedly? What if at the mall or a fast food restaurant an African sneezed near me?
Good Lord, tell the people who might have been exposed some freakin DETAILS

Even if it is the first case, it will be the first of 100’s or 1000’s. I pray that we are ready. I don’t expect much from the feds, but most healthcare people are not stupid.

Reports are that he was asymptomatic on the flight home. Not sure if I believe that one. Ebola can have incubation time up to 3 weeks. If a traveler is infected on day one of his business trip, he has plenty of time to do the work and fly back without feeling a thing. The viruses need time to multiply... only then it becomes obvious.
To: DouglasKC
He was sent home from a medical care when he presented with symptoms on the 26th. He returned on the 28th with worsened symptoms and was admitted.Want to bet that the hospital did NOT ask him if has recently been in Africa.
After all that would be racist.

Not to worry.
Obama has assured America that no one here will ever, ever, be at risk from this deadly virus.
"American officials are, however, advising Americans to be alert but to not fret excessively over the outbreak.
While the Ebola virus could potentially be transported by travelers to another country by a plane ride, according to officials at the CDC, the actual chance of this developing in a serious public health risk to those living in the US is small, Dr. Robert Glatter wrote in Forbes on Tuesday. "

If you are gloved and suited with a suitable respirator and goggles it is possible, though difficult to self decontaminate. I don't disagree, in theory, but how many Joes and Jills on the street are set up with the equipment and the self discipline to do that properly. I have the equipment, but greatly concerned about my ability to maintain a cool head with the patience to not take short cuts to succeed at that. Especially time after time.
