I was going to make a vanity post but it seems hidden or not possible to do that... some will snicker - but WHERE is the place to make a Vanity post?
Anyway ... what I have to say is — Why do we put up with the actions and inactions of the obama government on Ebola? Rather - Do something ourselves ,,,
Our so called ‘Government’ will not do the right thing... So ... soon... start calling large international airlines headquarters and tell them ... IF you continue flying in people from African Nations to the U.S.A... then your company is automatically on a list of NO FLY for any purpose or any reason to anywhere... So Airlines - our stupid government will not stop it — But American Citizens can stop flying on your airplanes ... Spread the word... Get it all over Facebook, Twitter, Twitchy, Freerepublic.com and who ever else... STOP IT... stop flying people from ANY African Nation into America - NOW! Or we stop flying your airline...

Well, Prez Obola finally got us infected just like he wanted. His open borders policy is working wonders.
Just wondering, in addition to coveralls, what do you use for head/face protection?
A very good Kindergarten lesson plan about germs, is to take glitter and put in your hand (palm up, and enough that the kids can see, but you aren’t on the ground for an hour cleaning it up, lol) but then pretend to sneeze into the palm of your hand (exhale like a sneeze so a force of air blows across your palm). The glitter will disperse like germs. (not completely, but enough for Kinder kids to understand). The kinder kids will see the glitter blow into the air and land on desks, chairs, counters, toys, floor, etc. Then we’d talk about germs. They could see how far germs traveled from a sneeze or a cough.
I forgot to add that perhaps Congress and the Obama Administration need to see the kinder lesson.
It seems we often hear things that makes us believe the sky is falling. But it never does. But one of these days it’s going to be for real. I hope this ebola thing isn’t it.
Definition of Stupidity: Doctors and PR flacks standing up and briefing on confirmed US Ebola patient but standing behind HIPAA to not divulge any information about the patient’s condition or identity.
HIPAA mission statement: to protect “Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information”
First, every detail of the illness status and individual description (including sex, race, height, weight) short of inclusion of the patient’s name is not “individually identifiable”.
But beyond that folly… buried deeper within HIPAA is language supporting disclosure of information when it has “public benefit and supports national interests”. Helping to contain a national outbreak of Ebola certainly meets that definition.
Hiding behind HIPAA leaves us in a situation where we are depending on the patient (maybe near death or at some point already deceased) to have detailed dialog with CDC “professionals” (Fed Employees with questionable abilities and preparation) to nail down every person who the EBolaed shook hands with and where this sick person sneezed or coughed up a loogie and left behind.
Woudn’t it help to have the public involved in this effort? (a la surviving Boston bombing suspect or countless other examples where the public helps solve the crime). The cab driver, or sales clerk, or guy standing outside for a smoke would help complete the entire picture of those potentially exposed.
As soon as Ebola is confirmed, the name and details of what is known about the person should be out in copious detail. Those with potential exposure can then seek further screening, and limit their contact with others until latent period is over. Isn’t that public health 101?
Feds solely in charge of containing contagious disease? Pandemic almost guaranteed. But it will happen with the proper level of PC and HIPAA compliance.
We know that the government should have shut down all flights from Ebola ravaged countries and that still probably would not have stopped the spread of the virus. I don’t see where or how they actually tried to prevent it from reaching our shores.
Everything I am hearing abou this strikes me as totally absurd, there must be a frantic coverup going on, I am afraid to even consider what the truth might be.
Either a hood on the tyveks, or a separate hood of the same material. Full face respirators may be the best, better coverage, and less opportunity for droplets in the eyes. P-100 is the standard I have heard for filtration.
