The tire tracks from the bus Barack Obama drove over the U.S. intelligence community continue leading to trouble for a president seen as trying to save his own political skin.
When Obama told 60 Minutes on Sunday that the rapid rise and spread of ISIS could be blamed on intelligence failure, that set off a firestorm of angry reaction. Intelligence officials adamantly defend their expertise and actions, arguing that the blame is not theirs, but the presidents for failure to act on their repeated warnings.
The Washington Times reports that the White House has been given detailed briefings on the activities of the Islamic State and their relentless spread of terror for well over a year.
U.S. policy leaders, including President Obama, were repeatedly warned for more than a year by the U.S. intelligence community that the Islamic State terror group was gaining significant strength in Syria and was on the verge of seizing territory deep inside Iraq, where the military was struggling to respond.
The private assessments, which were confirmed to The Washington Times on Monday, conflict with Mr. Obamas claim on national television over the weekend that Americas spies had underestimated the rise and capabilities of the Islamic State and had overestimated the Iraqi militarys ability and will to fight the group.
And a new study offers a reason for Obamas lack of awareness about the emergence of ISIS he wasnt paying attention he was disinterested and detached. President Obama, says this damning report, has skipped over half his daily intelligence briefings.
Via breitbart.com:
A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.
The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obamas PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.
In a revealing analysis on americanthinker.com, Thomas Lifson argues that Obamas apparent attempt to shift blame from his own inaction to the inadequacies of his intelligence experts will backfire and be a disaster for his presidency.
Obama has now handed his political opponents a big issue. He has failed in his duty to protect America.
Once the impression is created that Obama is irresponsible in his duty to protect us, it will be very hard indeed for him to escape a degree of scorn, particularly if the threat from ISIS and domestic terrorists (including lone wolves who may not be done with beheadings) continues to produce dramatic images.
I am not optimistic that Obama will be held accountable; the media will continue to protect him and the American people are too dumbed down.
obamas morning routine includes lighting up a cigarette then snorting some coke then checking his Facebook page.
You can spend billions of dollars on are military and intelligence but unfortunately it comes down to a American hating drug addled narcissistic racist little man who only went for the job for the party opportunities.
Maybe the reports were written in cursive...
Clearly, Obama was asleep at the wheel.
And some have said it’s a result of Obama reducing our intelligence employees in the region. If he did that, he’s at fault there too because he should have been more concerned after pulling out of Iraq like he did.
Where are all the GOP calls for his resignation?
I am not optimistic that Obama will be held accountable; the media will continue to protect him and the American people are too dumbed down.
ABSOLUTELY.
Too dumbed down to KNOW or care.
In the mean time.... American voters GOT the guy they VOTED FOR. Period!
“....Hes A Danger To America”
.
Wow. It took seven Obama years to come to this conclusion.
“Where are all the GOP calls for his resignation?”
I don’t see how this or anything else could be assessed as a “disaster to his presidency”, the only thing I think could rate as a disaster, at least by all his minions, would be if he only once did the right thing; that is very unlikely to ever happen.
Hussein is waiting for their planned utopia to kick in.
If the intelligence community REALLY wanted Obama to take notice, they would have invited ESPN commentators and Holywood celebrities to participate in the briefings.
Maybe you didn't notice. The POTUS is black. You want the GOP to be labelled as RACIST?
(Sarcasm intended)
Bump.
It was not intelligence failure. 0 deliberately ignore intelligence because he didn’t want to hurt his true love.
I'm usually not one to defend the Boy King, but I must in this case.
How many CIA officers have volunteered to caddy for Obama? That would have been a perfect time to get a few points across. But I'll bet none of them even thought about that.
And how many CIA officers were willing to light the candles and open the wine when Reggie Love came to visit? Again, none, I'll bet.
So let's put the blame where it really belongs. /s (of course)
Why the hell does everyone continue to assert and assume (even here) that Obama is simply “not paying attention disinterested and detached.”
We’re begin suckered into thinking Obama is limited to stuffing his head with coke while he plays golf (which he does). His agenda moves forward without skipping a beat.
Will no one consider the actual reason Obama appears to be ‘disinterested and detached’?
Obama created and enabled ISIS, he is in the process of empowering a global Caliphate and ‘stopping them’ is not his goal. From Egypt to Syria - Obama’s Arab Spring was intended to empower Jihadist Islam over the secular dictators in the middle east.
This explains much better, the ‘pinprick ineffective bombing’ of ISIS “targets” and the report that Obama must personally approve targets before any authorization to engage is granted.
Obama throws the Intelligence community under the bus for the media when the truth is, Obama himself ignored their ‘warnings’ because he was busy helping arm, fund and empower ISIS.
