I don’t care one bit about Obama’s father.
Washington/Jefferson/Adams/Franklin/Madison/Hamilton/Monroe/Paine were all “anti colonialists” whose rage derived from a hatred of British colonialism. So was freakin Ghandi
The fact that conservatives actually buy the nonsense that D’Souza is selling is baffling, especially this completely un American concept that has no intellectual basis.
“The fact that conservatives actually buy the nonsense that DSouza is selling is baffling, especially this completely un American concept that has no intellectual basis.”
The fact is that whether or not any of us “buy” D’Souza’s ideas has absolutely nothing to do with the reality that he has been targeted by this administration, unjustly prosecuted and is for all intents and purposes a political prisoner of the USA.
Having said that I watched “2016:Obama’s America” and have heard Dinesh interviewed numerous times, and to say the least I don’t have the same impression of his views that you do.
The reason is simple: you don't understand his thesis, and conservatives do.
The Founding Fathers weren’t anti-colonial: they were colonists. For all that they rebelled against the British, they formed a very successful colony.
Ghandi - and Obama’s mau-mau ancestors - on the other hand - were anti-colonists. They were natives in the land being colonized - and were part of the subset of colonized who didn’t do well under the colonization.
Given Ghandi’s wretched socialist legacy, not to mention Kenya’s increasingly barbarous post-colonial history, the colonizers obviously added a great deal to the country they colonized.
The Founding Fathers certainly added a vast amount to the land they colonized. Why would you suppose they were anti-colonial?
