The savage heat waves that struck Australia in 2013 were almost certainly a direct consequence of the human release of greenhouse gases, researchers said Monday. It is perhaps the most definitive statement climate scientists have made that ties a specific weather event to global warming.
Five groups of researchers, using distinct methods, analyzed the heat that baked Australia for much of last year and continued into 2014. All five came to the conclusion that last year’s heat waves could not have been as severe without the long-term climatic warming caused by human activity.
“When we look at the heat across the whole of Australia and the whole 12 months of 2013, we can say that this was virtually impossible without climate change,” said David Krapoly, a climate scientist at the University of Melbourne who led one research team.

A much shorter list would be those things not tied to “climate change”.
Climate will change with or without us as it has for eons. The only reason some politicians on the left along with some squirrely scientists embrace it is in order to extract more taxes. As always, follow the money trail, it never fails.

Not only that, but the Martha and the Vandellas tune “Heat Wave” was the precursor to all of this. And when you really, really think about it, the Vandellas WERE climate change. Martha Reeves, Bettey Kelly, Sandra Jackson, all of them; they started it, they triggered it. With their Motown hits “Dancin’ in the Streets” (obviously because the primitive air conditioning units of the mid-60’s would not cool things down sufficiently. What started as an innocent poke turned into a genuine worldwide catastrophe by the time “Nowhere to Run” was released. Little did the Vandellas know what they had set in motion, and how it would affect our plant Gaia so many years later.

We just finished one of the coolest, dampest summers I've seen in a long time. But that's just weather too.
I think their funding must be drying up. The only climate change they are seeing is the public wise up to their climalist hustle.
No smoking hot spot1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it.
Each possible cause of global warming has a different pattern of where in the planet the warming occurs first and the most. The signature of an increased greenhouse effect is a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics. We have been measuring the atmosphere for decades using radiosondes: weather balloons with thermometers that radio back the temperature as the balloon ascends through the atmosphere. They show no hot spot. Whatsoever.
If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming. If we had found the greenhouse signature then I would be an alarmist again.
Do not forget the new conservative government curtailed the Global Warming crazies in Australia’s Sept 2013.
These studies are nothing more than trying to keep the uninformed leftists in the game.
It’s amazing how simple it is to debunk AGW....
Their hypothesis doesn’t survive the greenhouse theory test...and you don’t need to go any farther than that.
Of course they moved the goal posts....and the missing heat is now in the oceans....even though they have no data to show that.
It may be hot in Australia, but it just snowed at my house.
When there are blizzards they say weather is not the same as climate so why is a hot spell any different.
I know Australia has always had some long periods of seriously hot dry weather- heard stories years ago about die offs of cattle during their droughts because the water all dries up.
Is it me or does this fail the logic test of trying to prove a negative?
Because weather is always perfect, and nothing ever changes...
And if it does change, there has to be a way to fool people and make money!
