I'm coming around. If a US Senate majority gets some conservative victories, that'll give the Ted Cruz conservatives more clout. Jodie Ernst winning, for instance, would send the message loud and clear, I'd think.

The majority will mean nothing, though, if Cochran holds that seat. Maybe the powerbroker 'pubs will smarten up and get that nomination to McDaniel, this week at the latest.
