You mention conservative blacks. I'm thinking that community leaders, liberals, are quiet when destructive policies "for their good" are implemented.

Around here, the thinking ones will tell you it started with busing, back in the 1960s, when the potential leaders were shipped out of the community for education. I wonder how many effective community leaders there are, who have strong positive ties to community groups.
