There is no reason not to allow one of our people to receive special Ebola/Sars/infectious disease medical treatment at our clinics that are special built for that purpose, from our experts who are specially trained for it.
I assume our 3,000 ‘boots’ will be treated with the same care...
That will only work until the virus gets loose. Hopefully, the docs are doing his treatments through one of those barrier things with the glove holes.
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
That is what the Bethesda unit is, along with the one at Emory, Nebraska, and Montana, special units designed and created years ago for this disease, and worse.
The first few cases will be handled with extreme caution and care. After it becomes a matter of routine, people will slip, just like the nonsense of “Universal Precautions” led the way for some in the health industry to be exposed to Hep C and HIV.
Ebola is nasty in what...7 strains?
These health professionals were already taking precautions. What is the rate of US health professionals contracting Ebola during treatment in Africa?
Most areas in the US are not prime for infection, we have laws that are pretty well adhered to for corpses, but not all areas, and someone still handles them.
Cheery thoughts from...

If you anticipate a time when our special infectious disease centers that are part of our biological warfare, Army and CDC research and treatment centers for personnel operating the research labs, cure research, and weaponizing of such bio agents grow indifferent to following procedure due to the number of Ebola infected American that they are seeing, then don’t you think that by then, someone with Ebola would have already penetrated somewhere else in this 320 million populated center of the world with international air travel and thousands of miles of porous borders, and as the number one target of terrorists?
I don’t see whatever is going to happen to us in regards to epidemic from Ebola, originating from one of these 4 super units.

If Reagan or Bush were in the WH, one could be sure that regular troops would not be exposed haphazardly. With Obama in the WH, all bets are off and I have no confidence that only the trained medics will be in contact with the disease.
Thanks for the ping!
Obama could kill off 90% of our armed forces by moving his recently created Ebola victims around the country. I guess he's not worried - the dead 'boots' could be replaced by illegals.
Oh, and we all need to refer to women Senators like Dianne Feinstein as 'Bras in Chambers'... no reason to ONLY dehumanized the men and women who defend the country by calling them 'boots'

NIH to admit patient exposed to Ebola virus for observation
NIH expects to admit a patient who has been exposed to the Ebola virus to its Clinical Center in the coming days. The patient is an American physician who was volunteering services in an Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone.
The patient is being admitted to the NIH Clinical Center for observation and to enroll in a clinical study.
Out of an abundance of caution, the patient will be admitted to the NIH Clinical Centers special clinical studies unit that is specifically designed to provide high-level isolation capabilities and is staffed by infectious diseases and critical care specialists. The unit staff is trained in strict infection control practices optimized to prevent spread of potentially transmissible agents such as Ebola.
No additional details about the patient are available at this time.
It is important to remember that Ebola patients can be safely cared for at any hospital that follows CDC’s infection control recommendations and can isolate a patient in a private room.
NIH is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our patients, NIH staff, and the public. This situation is of minimal risk to NIH staff and the public.

Setting the stage for bringing Ebola patients to any old hospital anywhere in America.
Certain "Ebola Authorities" right here on FR must be so pleased!
How many Muslims are in a position to be doing press releases for the CDC, anyway?
