Interesting read, those articles.
See, it’s a real tough sell trying to explain to me that al Qaeda and ISIS are not essentially the same entity.
They believe the same. They support the same goals. Their members are interchangeable on short notice.
al Qaeda is known to be operational from Lebanon through Syria into Iraq, into Saudi Arabia, and points South and West.
That’s a real problem IMO. With a strong presence South and West of Israel, and now this new presence North of Israel, I don’t like what I see shaping up.
Who knows what Egypt will wind up being like in the long term?
Israel could essentially find a unified Islamic entity hostile to it on three sides, and wanting war to accomplish what Arabs have been itching to do since long before 1948.
Israel has had that since before day one. They not only survive but thrive. AQ is ISIS is Hizbollah is Hamas is jihadists. The modern state of Israel was in part a response to the Holocaust (the book I remember was, I think, titled “FOrged in Fury”) in Europe, but mostly a response to the Grand [sic] Mufti’s campaign of terrorism and genocide before there was a modern state of Israel.
