A restless electorate and a target-rich map have the GOP on the cusp of winning the Senate majority. But with fewer than 40 days until November, Republican campaigns are suddenly confronting a problem that undermines high hopes of victory: a sudden and serious lack of cash.
GOP campaigns, political committees, andabove allthe party's outside groups are scrambling to raise money, worried that Democrats and their allied groups are poised to heavily outspend them on TV ads in the final weeks before Election Day. Concerns run deepest about October, when Democratic groups are on track to pour millions of dollars into a handful of races that will determine which party controls the Senate. In some of those same races, Republicans have reserved little or no airtime.
The disparity has led to mounting frustration among political operatives running Republican campaigns. And they are issuing a blunt warning: In a year with a half-dozen tight Senate contests, the party could easily squander most of them.
"I am worried about it for the first time in a long time," said Rob Jesmer, who ran the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2012 and 2010 and continues to work on behalf of Senate campaigns now. "I think in some of these places, it could be the determining factor."

Bad news ping
Amazing what happens when you attack your base.
Awww.
Alienate the base, insult them as racists, extremists, hate mongers, and vow to crush and destroy them, and see what it gets you!
Then whine about it?
Poor babies.
The Chamber of Crony Capitalists should give Karl as much money as he wants to keep the borders open, right?
Don’t expect a conservative to pony up one red cent.
We know you hate us, and the feeling’s mutual.
Maybe they can call on the grassroots tea party conservatives.
Sorry, I gave to the SENATE CONSERVATIVES FUND.
If you want money, beg Ted Cruz for it, and I'll think about giving more.
Here we see the beginning of The Great Excuse 2014. If (and if history is any indication. WHEN) Republicans fail, it won’t be the fault of their moderate candidates — it will all be blamed on fundraising.
Best joke of the day. Love ya, man. Have a great weekend!
YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT!
Stupid GOP will blame this on the grassroots.
I thought this was supposed to be a wave election.
Someone ping me when the wave starts.
Otherwise, it appears the only wave developing is a desperation wave.
EXACTLY!
See, a little context here.
For the past few weeks Oklahoma has been having a “conversation” about Islam. A local Republican representative said, in a public forum, some fairly incendiary and politically incorrect (yet manifestly obvious) things about Islam and muslims.
Immediately, the local CAIR butchers aligned with the local lefty “civil rights” organization to denounce and condemn, yada, yada, yada. Our local OKC paper which is center-right and usually spot on in its editorials about such things, blew it on this and sided unquestioningly with the leftists.
So almost as if on cue, a local convert (not raised in the culture of mindless brutality that is Islam everywhere) as one of is first acts as a newly minted muslim, cuts an infidels head off. Game, set, match to the representative I think.
Oklahoma is one of the most blessedly conservative places in the US and we have had one of the 911 killers in Norman, another convert died in a workplace accident (his backpack bomb went off at the wrong time) during an OU football game a few seasons ago, and now this nutjob.
My point is: if it’s here, it’s probably where you live too.
Meanwhile In California, Michigan Democrat senate candidate Gary Peters is fundraising.
I will vote for the most conservative candidate in
November. Unfortunately that may be only a republican,
I have decided to wear a clothes pin on my nose on
election day.
The GOPE abuses the base and then wonders why funds
aren’t coming in? They are too stupid to hold office...
They could always send out fund-raising letters to black democrats, you know, cross-over contributions, like those cross-over votes they got.
I quit giving to the party a few years ago. I still give to PACs and candidates.
When the party as a whole wants to represent me, I’ll start giving again.
Rx..... Excise certain GOP leaders and other capitulators who are the typhoid Mary's of this disease.
The wave of urine into Karl Role’s depends....
