He’s creepy but in his defense he has run something before, is a hell of a businessman and is self made. The Mormon part is almost inexcusable however.
The Mitt even wants to run and that the GOP considers it, is proof positive of JUST how out of touch THEY are!
So, who else is there?
Q. “Why, you might wonder, would anyone want Romney to run again?”
A. Because they want the Democrats to win.
I want Romney to run against Hillary.
In the Democrat primary.
You mean that guy who folded in the debates when Benghazi came up - and couldn’t get it up to pummel obama? You mean the original implementer of obamacare in Mass? You mean Mr. Detached - a guy who is detached from the average American’s everyday life? You mean the 3RD. in a row of GOP/RNC Losers - behind McCain and Dole? You mean that guy who allowed his campaign team to bloody every Republican opponent’s nose in the Primaries but couldn’t do anything except hand a hankie to obama to wipe his nose... Yes - I know that Romney ...
Who ever dreamed up running Romney again is smoking dope.
At the moment, Romney stands out because he's tested, vetted, capable, polished, and highly impressive personally. He would be a great Republican candidate were he a couple of shades more conservative. But he is who is is. The Romney buzz will dissipate when and if a strong conservative with outreach potential appears on the scene. If that doesn't happen by the middle of next year, Romney may have appeal as the best man standing. That's a low bar. But it remains to be seen who will clear it.
They want him to run so he can lose again.
His Wall Street buddies who all appear to be in love with Hillary are no doubt egging him on.
Are there better choices then Mitt for our side? Yes, but when it comes down to the final vote, what will we do?
Romney was the most decent man to ever run for President. That does not make him a good President, but, infinitely better than the jOke we got. I would prefer someone who will not compromise with the Bolshies. Half way to Communism is the wrong direction.
‘Tis the season for trial balloons and strong hints — to see who can attract the moneymen.
This next presidential campaign will cost the major parties (D & R) around $1 Billion each. That will require a lot of pre-planning by both potential candidates and party leaders.
So far, there are over a dozen Republicans, most retreads from previous presidential cycles, and a half-dozen Democrats who have hinted. They all face the same problem: convincing the moneymen, while maintaining some type of voter appeal.
Hints and trial balloons will continue until the first one actually tosses his/her hat into the ring. [Recall in 2008 Obama’s early announcement pushed Ms Inevitable to rush her campaign announcement.] Then, there will be a great rush of others announcing before the money pool dries up. Some won’t even make to it to the initial primaries in early 2016.
A $billion dollar price tag — if you snooze, you lose the money.
Why would Mitt Romney want Mitt Romney to run for president in 2016? According to his son Tagg, he didn't really want to win in 2012.
Name recognition! The dumb voters in this country rely on that FIRST. The re-election of Lindsey Graham is the perfect example. People in SC didn’t know the other names...trust me..it is THAT simple. I live in SC. Graham is an enemy of conservatism ...but they knew his name. And that is the “lever they pulled”. It is a shame but true. And I think Romney would win because of it. The majority of people who vote are not great thinkers, understanding the nuance of ideological contrasts...duh, I’ve heard of that guy, so he is probably the best choice. (And it makes me sick...thank you “educators” for the fine work you have done teaching the children about our country, it’s ideals and values...so they can make an “educated” decision).
Because its his turn. /s
The Republican Establishment loves their retread losers.
There’s a new article pushing him every day, it seems. That’s concerning to me. It makes me think the GOPe is really determined to make him the loser...uh, candidate again.
The Republican establishment wants Jeb Bush. But because the Bush family are now anathema to many or even most Republicans, they are putting up Romney as an “authorized protest candidate”. But they will do everything in their power to prevent ANY conservative candidate from getting the nomination, or even making it to the convention.
So two choices, and two choices ONLY.
It has reached a point where the Republican leadership, the GOP-e, and the RINOs will support and vote for Hillary before they would back ANY real conservative.
The ONE big chance conservatives have is in Kentucky, right now. If Mitch McConnell is defeated, it will rattle the Republican establishment to its bones, and will likely cause a cascade effect.
First John Boehner would be out as Speaker of the House. And by the time of the Republican National Convention, the conservatives might take the convention away from the liberal Republicans. If it can pull that off, it must purge them from all the leadership ranks, for good, because any one of them that remains will betray conservatives at the first opportunity.
No conservative is asked to support McConnell’s opponent, Grimes, because that is too much to ask. Instead, vote for every conservative on the ballot, but DO NOT vote in the McConnell-Grimes race. Leave it blank.
Almost certainly, Republicans can lose that one seat and still have a two, three, or four majority lead in the senate.
But to be rid of Mitch “Judas” McConnell, would be worth ceding that seat to a powerless freshman Democrat.
I’m gonna tell you one thing kid, Ben Carson
May as well save taxpayer money and not hold the election.
Just give it to Hillary.
