The U.S. military and two Arab allies on Wednesday bombarded a dozen small-scale oil refineries in eastern Syria as part of an expanding campaign to cut off key sources of financing and fuel for the Islamic State, according to the Pentagon.

...

The Islamic State is estimated to produce between 25,000 and 40,000 barrels of oil a day, earning as much as $1 million a day, according to industry experts.

The attacks on the refineries came on a day when U.S. military forces reported hitting an Islamic State convoy in Syria near the Iraqi border and Syrian opposition groups reported heavy bombardment in areas near Turkey. American planes also carried out five airstrikes in Iraq, U.S. officials said.

We should have seized them ourselves to fund the operation.

Actually, oil is the valid reason to go to war in the modern world. Resources have ever been the reason countries go to war, whatever their public justifications. Resources are the lifeblood of nations and civilizations and oil in the modern world provides the source of and the ability to obtain most other vital resources. Without access to oil, a western nation becomes Albania.

My point was litard hypocracy. Of course energy markets are the glue that holds a modern society together.

What a giant environmental mess you’ve made, Mr. President. Welcome to the rich, white, corporatist, imperialist American President’s club. And you thought you’d be different? Happy bombing!

In a statement U.S. Central Command said the strikes were conducted by fighters from the U.S., Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Arrest them, sedate them with IV Versed continuous infusion. Then fly them over non ISIS controlled areas in Iraq, Kurdish areas and Syria, in troop transport planes..

Then, put a parachute on them and shove them out of the plane.

Before the airdrop, notify our armed allies on the ground that a turkey shoot can begin when our planes are safely out of the area.
