Steve Jobs would never have allowed this to happen.
Rush, Apple’s unofficial pimpster dejour, was all over this.
My Galaxy is just fine. :-)
It hasn’t come down to my 4S yet, but it sure screwed up a few things on my iPad. But all seems to be ok now.
I always wait at least a month before updating to a new IOS on my Apple devices. All the beta testing in the world can’t compare with releasing something on the public.
And this is why I never update right away. It’s a good rule of thumb for most software. Wait a month for most any major software so they can work out the problems.
The story contains a factual error. Not all iphone 5 users are saying they have had no problems with the new operating system..
I have a company-issued (required) iphone 5, and I have had nothing but trouble since “upgrading” to ios8 last week.
Also, I’d like nothing more than to be able to get rid of that stupid, piece of crap, “highly anticipated” Health App - not to mention FaceTime, Passbook, Podcasts, Tips and Newsstand - but they are ALL permanent.
Apparently, the geniuses at Apple are better at deciding what I need on my phone than I am.
So I keep all their unnecessary garbage Apps segregated away in a folder titled “Useless Bullsh!t”
So it turns out Apple is actually just a normal company that has good products which cost a premium bit still makes dumb mistakes sometimes? Huh.
So, can the damn thing still function as a phone, or is the panic that they cannot stay on Facefarque 24/7?
HeathKit apps would be nice too.
AT&T is raising EVERYONE’s data rate. I just found this out.
For instance, if you are paying $115 a month for 10GBs of Data and unlimited texts and phone calls in all 50 states.
If you upgrade your iPhone 6, and you want the 2 year plan (where you pay $199 or $299) upfront for the iPhone 6 plus the $40 activation fee. This part is nothing new. It’s been that way for a long time. However......,
your monthly rate of $115 will go up to $140 a month or an extra $25 a month or $350 a year.
I asked AT&T why and they said because they no longer receive a subsidy from the feds for their land lines. Therefore, in order to make it up they are throwing it on everyone’s wireless bill.
Once word gets out on the street I bet they will lose many current customers like myself. I was a customer since 2002. Think I will be looking at T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon.
Ridiculous and I will be leaving them soon.
Just ordered an i6 for me and an i6+ for the wifey. Replacing an i4 and an i5.
If the rumored new iPad ever shows up I’m going to grab one of those as well. My iPad 1 S/N 0000001 has become very forgetful of late - memory shortage I suppose. iPad brain cells are apparently not immortal.
Won’t some die-hard Apple fan please tell us how this is a hoax, and that Apple is not at fault!!!?!
It just works! Magical! Thin! Lightweight! What, marketing verbiage didn’t fix the problem?
The reality distortion field continues to dissipate now that Steve Jobs is gone.
Updated the iPhone 5,and iPad without a hitch
I have been an Android guy for several years. Just switched over to the iPhone 6 Plus. I love it! Very pleased so far.
I’ve gone through 6 iPhones, trying to get the new Wave Charging to work. What gives???
To the fanbois:
Please remember this as yet another example when you are so often inclined to tell the world that you love all things Apple because their stuff “just works”.
I have an iPhone 5 and recently (accidently) hit the upgrade tab for the new OS. I thought the heck with it and went through the whole process until it asked for my iTunes user name and password. It would not recognize my password, same with my Apple ID. I went online to change my password and the site wouldnt allow me to do so.
Im ready to switch to Android, my daughter has been happy with hers.
