This week’s soup: yellow split pea soup with ham.
I should have soaked the peas first, but everything I read said there was no need. I started it on Sunday, and the peas are just now getting tender.
But, it sure is good.
Next time, I will soak the peas, then put them innthe blender tomake a paste. Biting down on a hard pea is like chomping on a popcorn old maid.
Man! put a dash of dry sherry in there and it will POP!
Get a good crust of bread...

You soak beans not peas.
