The Florida governors race on pace to be 2014s most expensive, grueling campaign is a dead heat with six weeks until Election Day, according to a new poll out Wednesday.
Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott and Democrat Charlie Crist are neck-and-neck in the new Quinnipiac University poll. Scott is at 44 percent among likely voters, the survey shows, compared with 42 percent for Crist and 8 percent for Libertarian Adrian Wyllie.
Scott has a slight edge over Crist among independents, 44 percent to 37 percent. And the gender gap tilts in his favor: He leads Crist by 8 points among men, 48 percent to 40 percent, offsetting Crists 2-point margin among female voters, 43-41.
Wyllie doesnt seem to be hurting one candidate more than the other: Quinnipiac prompted Wyllie voters for their second choices, and a recalculated matchup showed Scott still maintaining his statistically insignificant, 2-point edge.
Florida voters have seen a tidal wave of campaign advertising both positive and negative and both major-party candidates are now underwater on favorability, the poll shows. Forty-two percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Scott, compared with 48 percent who view him unfavorably. Crists favorable/unfavorable rating is virtually identical: 41/49.

19th Amendment was a bad idea.
Oh, come off it Polutico. Had it showed Crist +2, you'd be touting is as a MASSIVE lead, that Scott was toast, etc, etc.
“Orange Faggot”??!!!-
LOL
Right on....
Guy is a self serving tool and a jackass.
Nancy Pelosi and other lefties here in the Bay Area I get.
But, this A-hole makes no sense for Florida and yet, he is poised in a decent position to win.
Fkr....
Just got another spam from the campaign.
Weird e-mails with titles like “Too Much Coffee” from some woman, then you open it and it is from the Crist creeps.
Found the opt out kink, it’s very very tiny at the bottom, had to read through lots of fine print and then opt out and elect if I only wanted to receive “Important” messages, or opt out of all messages.
And they wanted to know why.
They must be pissing off tens of thousands of people.
Leftist media newspeak: 2-point lead for Republican “toss-up”, 2-point lead for Democrat, “Commanding Lead.”
Well said!
The GOP should find some of the old DNC ads against Crist and run them as they are, INCLUDING the "this ad was paid for by Democrats..." and follow that with a subsequent disclaimer that the current broadcast is being funded by the Republican party. Ask "what's changed" apart from Crist's party affiliation?
Saul Alinsky says make them play by their own rules!
Maybe they will do that if they don't worry too much about offending Democrats.
If they don’t want to do the ad buys, put them on youtube and repost them with the note “The Democrats tell you why not to vote for Charlie Crist in Florida....”
