Poll: Florida governor race a toss-up
Politico ^ | 09/24/2014 | By STEVEN SHEPARD

The Florida governor’s race — on pace to be 2014’s most expensive, grueling campaign — is a dead heat with six weeks until Election Day, according to a new poll out Wednesday.

Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott and Democrat Charlie Crist are neck-and-neck in the new Quinnipiac University poll. Scott is at 44 percent among likely voters, the survey shows, compared with 42 percent for Crist and 8 percent for Libertarian Adrian Wyllie.

Scott has a slight edge over Crist among independents, 44 percent to 37 percent. And the gender gap tilts in his favor: He leads Crist by 8 points among men, 48 percent to 40 percent, offsetting Crist’s 2-point margin among female voters, 43-41.

Wyllie doesn’t seem to be hurting one candidate more than the other: Quinnipiac prompted Wyllie voters for their second choices, and a recalculated matchup showed Scott still maintaining his statistically insignificant, 2-point edge.

Florida voters have seen a tidal wave of campaign advertising — both positive and negative — and both major-party candidates are now underwater on favorability, the poll shows. Forty-two percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Scott, compared with 48 percent who view him unfavorably. Crist’s favorable/unfavorable rating is virtually identical: 41/49.

I won’t vote for anyone who changes with the wind and chases ambulances. My biggest worry is how long before the Democrats get some one in to pass a state income tax?

It is hard to believe that Crist is above 10% or so.

Not surprised.......Scott Should be ahead.....

Huh, so Politico has an article that says that the Florida Guv race is a toss up?

Interesting part is that polls here in Florida had Rick Scott up by 4 - 5% points just last week.

Does this mean that Crist is surging?

What this means I believe, is that Politico is doing it’s best to make it appear that Crist has a chance to win the election.

My biggest worry is how long before the Democrats get some one in to pass a state income tax?

I'm not positive about it, but wouldn't that require an amendment to the state constitution?

Of course, keeping in mind that Florida amended the constitution to protect sea turtles. Florida is well known for amending the constitution for minor non-constitutional issues that are the domain of the legislature.

The ignorance of the voters is such that you can't explain the difference to them. I explained to my BIL and his NEA commie wife (they live in FL) that turtles, pig farms and smoking are legislative issues, that amending the constitution for them was opening Pandora's Box. Pissing into the wind. They voted for all of them. All passed too.

He is pro Common Core ........and ......in state tuition for Illegals......

People in the country ILLEGALLY are allowed to attend state universities. And then are charged tuition LOWER than native born US citizens from other states are charged. And it is talked about as if it is perfectly reasonable and logical.

This one issue alone is proof that the Republic and the rule of law are dead. Fill the house and senate with "Republicans", it won't resurrect the corpse that is the republic, nor will the federal government suddenly see the light and respect the Constitution and the law.

Bump. Typical Push Poll. If the Dem voters see Crist down by 10, they will just stay home.

This “tie” poll, right now, is an outlier.

Most recent polls have Scott up by 5 or so.

How could Crist even be a player for governor.

Morons.

I certainly hope that is the case. I’ve not been paying attention because I had totally dismissed the chances that this state might go for a replay of Crist.

MF Crist spams my email everyday looking for campaign cash

No way to get it to stop either, no opt out link and apparently replying with “stop spamming me you orange faggot” doesn’t work either

Pole smoker Crist, the scum ambulance chaser and obamaumao friend, is having a fundraiser in ‘miami’ (that miami, gay/lesbo/libbo lefties) with.... Hitlery as the speaker. Should be a death blow, and make people really think about this a@@.

His father was a cardiologist in Pinellas County. Greek Orthodox. Crist has kept the “greek” part and become a complete opportunist liar, and the base for him is the greenies of the “environmentalist” movement. That and the obamaoumau-ites who hate scott because he resisted a health exchange and dodged a major financial bullet of medicaid entitlement funding.
