President Barack Obama returned a formal military salute with a one-handed coffee-cup salute Tuesday, only a few hours after he dispatched the nation’s military on their attack mission into northern Syria.
White House aides posted the sloppy salute video on Instagram.
The commander in chief offered the coffee-cup salute when he disembarked from his U.S. Marine Corps helicopter in New York, as he made his way to the United Nations General Assembly.

In the Soviet Army he would have got several days of detention for this. 1) A salute not wearing a uniform, 2) that cup of coffee.

It’s my understanding that returning the salute was started by Reagan. I would prefer that our Commander in Chief return salutes. And, out of respect to our military do it properly. But, if he isn’t willing to do it properly then just not salute at all.

I feel sorry for those guys who have to salute that worthless piece of shit in the first place. You know that 99% of them don’t have the slightest amount of respect for him.
Because it was vital to national security, he had to use his left hand to button his suit jacket. That meant the only way he could keep the all-important cup of whatever was to put it in his right hand.
