Via NRO, nothing says “slow news Friday” like a lazy post devoted to half-assed speculation.
On the one hand, he’s an old Democrat with friends in the Democratic establishment. He might conceivably have heard something from a friend who’s heard something from someone who’s in a position to know. On the other hand, I haven’t seen a single other liberal in media anywhere say anything about an October surprise. What’s most likely? That Bob Beckel, Fox News liberal, is somehow more tapped in to the White House than MSNBC? That lots of other lefties in media know what he’s talking about here but have held their tongues, with not even so much as an anonymous quote leaking into the NYT or WaPo? Or that he’s talking out of his ass?
Listen closely through the crosstalk and you’ll hear him say he thinks it has to do with national security. The only potential “October surprise” material I’m aware of lately is the rumor that Zawahiri was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Waziristan. A defense official already denied that, though. Maybe BB’s heard that we’ve picked up his scent and are trying to zap him before November, so that Obama can reverse some of the gruesome numbers he’s been putting up lately on foreign policy. I wonder, though, how long that bounce would last: Getting Zawahiri wouldn’t pack the same punch that getting the more iconic Bin Laden did, although of course it would pack some. If you want to get Americans high-fiving, take out the new “caliph,” al-Baghdadi, instead. Or better yet, take out both.
“Well, maybe he doesn’t know anything”
I will be surprised if he does. I actually like The Five and Beckel amuses me. That is his job on the panel. He knows it and runs his mouth to fulfill his roll. Heck he beats the heck out of Juan Williams.
A US special operations success is probably what Beckel is referring to, which could mean a hostage rescue mission or the capture or killing of one or more major terrorists.
He was just flapping his gums because he was frustrated about getting beat down by the other 4.

Perhaps they can stage a kidnapping of an American Ambassador and trade some Gitmo boys for him......Seems like a good plan....I mean..what could go wrong?.......even if it fails.....”what difference would it make”......./s
This: Ruth Bader-Meinhof retires, Eric Holder nominated to SCOTUS. Guaranteed GOTV magic.
Its become an election year tradition, the October Surprise. Happens every time.
The low information voter, helped along by press hysteria, falls for it every time.
Beckel’s October surprise: Boehner, McConnell and McCain are going to join the Democrat Party.
"And believe me, we will tattoo it to their foreheads in 2014. We will run on it. And they will lose because of it.

Still going on about RINO love?
RINOs are like the “Cmon baby, I’ve changed!” serial abusers.
And the RINOs have already vowed to destroy conservatives.
Just like an abusive spouse threatens to kill their victim.
If nothing changes, the abuser follows through.
Tell me, do you enjoy being abused by party leadership?
Eyeroll.
It’s one nasty surprise after another already.
Big woop.
Beckel’s a bunch of hot air.....
Bob’s drunk again. In October, he’s going to stand up and drop his pants and moon Greg Gutfeld and say, “Look at this red eye, Gutfeld!”
I would be more surprised if there was no surprise.........that would be different for the Dems (in my opinion)
Beckle is your BFF GOPe shill.
Yes, the Republicans attacked first -- against the TEA Party candidates in the primaries, and against the citizens of the USA.
Maybe they will report that Obama almost never reported for duty in the national guard - that seems to be important to many people from past experience.
