Spoken like a true “loyal subject”.
I don’t know much about the Irish Civil war but wasn’t Collins technically on the UK’s side at that point, against the IRA?
Thanks, but I have never been a subject. Thanks to the Nationality Act of 1948. As for Collins, there are Irish Nationalist heroes I can admire: Sorley Boy McDonnell, Wolfe Tone. Men who fought fairly and admirably. Not terrorists like Collins, who murdered civilians, and whose IRA colleagues committed a forgotten but brutal ethnic cleansing of Protestants in the early 1920’s along the border. Inc members of my own maternal family.
I have had two members of my (maternal) family murdered in 1921 and 1971 by the IRA. You’ll understand I am not fond of them. Or any of the terror groups who made a beautiful country like NI a murderous mess for decades.
Liam Neeson was great in “Taken” and a few others over the years but he will never get another dime out of me.
And Taken had Neeson firings guns at least 100 times at the Muslim kidnappers who ran a sex slave trade
“...I have had two members of my (maternal) family murdered in 1921 and 1971 by the IRA...”
My condolences.
