A raucous crowd disrupted speakers, threatened violence and accused police of murder Tuesday night as the fallout from the police shooting in Ferguson, Mo., reignited.
And anyone who disagreed with the mob needed a police escort to get out.
That was the scene of democracy as protesters apparently conceive it during a meeting of the St. Louis County Council in Clayton, Mo., as a meeting called to conduct local government descended into two hours of near chaos and mob rule, according to an account by the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
The mob was on hand, of course, to protest the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, a black man shot to death during a scuffle with a police officer Aug. 9.
The case is in the hands of a grand jury which now has until January to decide whether Officer Darren Wilson should face criminal charges. But the mob at Tuesday nights meeting demanded the justice system be ignored and Wilson placed under arrest now.

(For hanging later, no doubt.)
And if the grand jury completes its term and decides Wilson was justified in shooting Brown the mob threatened violence. It matters nothing to them that Brown had marijuana in his system at the time of the scuffle, had just used physical force to rob a nearby convenience store of the kind of cigars used to roll marijuana blunts, and was said by at least one witness to have been charging Wilson at the time of the shooting.
One speaker made it clear.
And the mob was even clearer, chanting what will happen if the justice system doesnt come to their preferred outcome: If we dont get it, shut it down.
And what modern mob scene would be complete without some version of the hey, hey, ho, ho chant libs have been using since at least the 1960s to boil thought away into mindlessness? In this case, it was accusing the police who maintain order of being murderers.
Amid the chants, one speaker even compared St. Luis County authorities to terrorists rampaging in the Middle East, beheading innocents, murdering Christians and selling women captives into sexual slavery, the Post Dispatch reported.
You are ISIS to black people, he said.
(Heres a hint thats wrong. If youre allowed to stand up and insult the guys on the dais, youre not dealing with murderous Islamic terrorists.)
And there was more. The mob even threatened to disrupt sports events like St. Louis Rams games and St. Louis Cardinals games as part of their demonstration.
burn, baby, burn
Sounds like a great idea!
He wont. But if they start attacking people on campus or burning down buildings it could get ugly....
It wouldn’t hurt for him and the other seminarians to arm themselves, just in case.
I can relate, I was living in a city that saw major riots just after MLK was assassination. I’m just saying that if they want to burn their on homes down, more power to them.
It does sound as if agitators are trying to set off something large scale. So, that’s not completely outside the realm of the possible. Having a contingency plan just in case might be a good idea.
At the height of the Ferguson rioting there was a police shooting in Detroit, BAMN managed to get up a small mob to protest but the locals told them to get the hell out of our neighborhood. It was even a white cop who shot a black perp.
“I mean, Im sorry for the people there and the businesses, but perhaps its time to call a gutter a gutter and get out.”
And the police should all abandon the town, because the town has abandoned them. There are other places that actually need and appreciate law enforcement.
It is clear that Ferguson MO is no place for decent people to live and work.
I doubt that anybody there is surfing Free Republic.
But that’s what Satan loves. To conquer something and turn it into more hell.
I live in SW St Louis Co, so this is home. St. Louis is very interesting. The County has a vast number of small towns, Furguson being one of them in the North Co. area. This hits home for us and those that have family and friends here. I wish I could predict what will happen, and if it was just locals, I could. With others coming in, with their own agendas and money to push them, I don't know. Your son needs to be very aware at all times and have a plan in place, just in case...
MOgirl
I meant what they say is stupid and hurtful to other Freepers. I doubt the rioters will need any encouragement when they go off. I doubt they read period.
My guess is that Eric and his merry band of thugs at the DOJ have sealed up any information that could counter the meme that the Gentle Giant was executed by an evil white cop. They were very upset with the release of that video of the Gentle Giant assaulting the shop owner during his strong-arm robbery. Since then they've ensured that Gentle Michael's juvenile's records have not been released, and I am sure if evidence exists of the Officer's battery - they will keep that sealed as long as possible.
So we can stop them from burning their own home down? Have at it, fellah....
Just set up a table handing out free cellphones and EBT cards and everyone will get in an orderly line and quiet down.
This isn’t about justice, this is a mob demanding a lynching, a mob completely intellectually unable to understand the irony of this.
He lives in Clayton and can handle himself well, I just pray all is OK. He knows to be very careful where he goes...
Still waiting for one shred, one scintilla of evidence that this shooting was based on racism. I wish I was filthy rich like Mark Zuckerberg because rather than spending my money on promoting illegal foreign invasion, I would be offering million dollar bounties on anyone who could produce one shred of evidence on these “racist” episodes.
They were probably the ones being “raucous” and making the threats.
