Money made a huge mistake here with market garden. The Germans had left the Schede undefended for a time. The Schede was the Islands between Antwerp and the North Sea. If the Brits and had moved swiftly ans seized then, the port of Antwerp would have been available to the Allies much sooner.

Monty really is insufferable. It’s hard to believe his monumental gaffe in issuing that victory statement just before the British 1st Airborne is about to be cut up in Arnhem.
