he deaths of 10 people in the past week of a mysterious disease in several cities in Venezuela, including the capital of Caracas, have caused panic within the population and has prompted doctors to sound the alarm.
A government spokesman minimized the warnings and described efforts to notify the public of a disease that has killed four adults and four children as a "campaign of disinformation and terrorism."
Despite the government's indifference, the country's doctors insist there is plenty of reason for concern about a highly dangerous and contagious disease of unknown origin.

Just not troops on the ground
Well, I think what you mean is that it cannot stay viable for more than a few hours while airborne.
Every time someone with the virus sneezes, coughs, sweats, or farts, it becomes airborne.
Here is a simple scenario I thought of the other day.
Im sure Im not the only one who has thought of it
A westernized jihadist (with a US passport) intentionally goes to Africa with a woman and a child and eposes the three of them to Ebola
Next stop Europe and the USA
where he, she, and the child meet as many good people as possible before they die.....
What is to prevent this or something similar from happening?
It could allow you to quarantine yourself.
"it should" -- In theory, during the time that the mask is fit properly and undisturbed, but all of us have seen that even a full containment suit is no guarantee in the field.
Several “mysterious illnesses” gong around. Wash your hands and keep your fingers away from your face.
That's not what 'airborne' means in epidemiology and virology. Quit spreading disinformation.

The horses are riding.
Interesting thing is it will work mostly (and prosper) in equatorial third world unsanitary areas. Sure it has gone west. Soon it will be going into places like northern Africa and across to pakistan/
I am SURE freeze thaw cycles will inhibit it’s activities.
Do you want to invest in Siberian Real Estate?
(Maybe that is originally what put us whites in the northern areas?)
The autopsy report shows hepatomegaly, strong steatosis, congestive spleen, pale kidneys, hemorrhagic enterocolitis, erosive pleuritis and petechiae in the upper limbs.
When the government declares that either there is no problem or that the worst is over...it is time to be very, very scared.
Where I work we do 'fit' tests for masks, despite positive pressure demand regulators. (H2S safety, not pathogens)
If it is a virus, chances are cold preserves it.
I am sure that you can freeze anything.
I am sure a toque, gloves and snow shovel inhibit its ready passing!
In Venezuela it sells for $75.00.
Isn't communism great?
What really happened was the one tissue mill they had there didn't pay their pulp supplier (Brazil). They were buying pulp from Brazil because their pulping operation fell into disrepair and then was gutted for scrap value. Then the government threw out the tissue mill management and sent in the army to run it instead. The army found out there was no pulp to use to make paper, so they began to collect any forms of garbage with cellulose fibers to make tissue. That ruined the pumps, headbox, felts, and yankee driers. Periods of cold shut downs let their boilers fall into disrepair and now the boilers won't work too.
That's how come Venezuela can't wipe it's own a$$.
Socialized Medicine + Ebola = Brown Shorts Time
Multiply that by oour Porous Border and the Equation answer is that we are so totally screwed....
So does heating it to an internal temperature of 190 degrees F.
I’d see spring as more dangerous...When the viable pathogens melt out, animals feed on carcasses, runoff...
***No amount of preppin can stop a plague or pandemic if thats what this is.****
I think I will get some friends, pick up some pretty girls and go into my home castle. There we can all set around and tell raunchy stories till the plague kills off everyone. Then write about it for the survivors. Title: CALL ME BOCCACCIO by RUY.
A properly fitted N95 mask would work, because it is designed for particles smaller than Ebola viruses. Distance from an infected person is even more important.
N95’s are pretty common, and block 95% of particles that are 0.3 microns in size or larger. That is 300 nanometers, and the Ebola virus is about 80nm in diameter and 800-1000nm in length. So if the N95 is properly fitted, it should block all of the virus.
notes: ear-loop surgical masks are not designed to protect the wearer, but to protect someone else from being infected by the wearer. So an N95 has a bowl shape to cover the nose and mouth.
In addition to protecting the nose and mouth, lab glasses keep the virus out of the eyes. From there, the biggest concern is physical contamination, of mostly the hands.
