One of the scientists behind the document, Helga Kromp-Kolb from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, told Austria's ORF TV that the above-average increases in temperature were due to Austria's landlocked position and its sensitive Alpine regions.
"We are a continental area, which gives us a higher rise in temperature and… we are in a mountain region where the decrease in snow cover intensifies the warming process", she said.
The report says that in the last 130 years, sunshine in the Alps has increased by approximately 20%.
It says that snow cover, particularly at mid-altitude elevations, has declined, and that there has been a clear reduction in the surface of Austria's glaciers.
Rises in temperature, it says, have accelerated since 1980.
"Cold nights have become rarer, but hot days have become more common."

Time was - long ago - when the BBC actually had sentient beings running the place.
They are using long time frames so they can “hide the decline” of the last 15 years.
And winter is just around the corner... the irony is lost on the BBC.

More sunshine leads to more luxuriant plant growth and water vapor among other things.

The leftists have always called for more socialist/marxist government control as the cure for pollution (and everything else). Pollution, don’t you see, is caused by capitalism.
Then the iron curtain fell and it became irrefutable that the worst polluters in the history of the world were the former communist countries, most of which had become large toxic waste dumps. People generally don’t pollute property that they own. People have no such restraint about polluting property that belongs to someone else. Pollution, the world could see, is caused by socialism.
So now the entire focus is CO2, because the United States, having the world’s largest economy, naturally produces the most CO2 per capita. Never mind that CO2 is a trace gas that is necessary for the survival of life on Earth.

I would like to know that too. Who..going back 130 years measured the output of the sun then. The late 1800’s was horse & buggy era with none of the advance technology.
