i doubt that Holmes got any firearm used in the crime on line direct. He might have made a purchase from a dealer on line but had to receive the weapon through a local licensed dealer who had to perform a Brady check before handing over the firearm.
Not like the old days (pre-64/GCA-68) when you could buy old Mausers in the mail in the back of Popular Mechanics. :>}
