When the Baltimore Ravens released Ray Rice earlier this week, the NFL followed suit with its own punishment and suspended the running back indefinitely. How long that suspension may last is unclear, but it sounds like Rice plans to fight it. Citing multiple media reports, NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk says Rice intends to file an appeal Monday that "will be handled by the NFLPA and by an outside lawyer retained by Rice." Initially, Rice received a two-game suspension in July, after an initial video showed him dragging his unconscious then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, out of a casino elevator in New Jersey in February. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was criticized for that punishment, with many believing it was too lenient for Rice.

GREAT!
Used to be able to tune to local sports talk to get an update on the NFL games the prior and the coming week. Now its all scandals all the time.
Based on the Brand New policy just implemented this month, he should have a six game suspension. Otherwise, get rid of the policy.
Don’t NFL players have a union?
NFLPA. The policy was adopted after the Rice incident, so technically, the two games should stand.
both these bassturds need to be gone along with Michael Vick and that other woman beater
They do and they are run by a bunch of thugs. The NFL is about to show its real ugly head when they are forced to defend a woman beater.
I guess it really doesn’t matter that he was defending himself from a violent woman attacking him???
Good.
This whole thing has been a successful effort to destroy professions sports.
They’re having quite a good run too.
I agree and the NFL should pay the penalty with the fans for previously looking the other way on all the thuggery that they hide.
Nobody complained about Ray Lewis. Even today his ass is still kissed by the likes of John Feinstein and rest of the sports media.
I don’t want to see the NFL ruined but I want them to pay a penalty for all this cover up that’s been going on.
I am complaining about him. I forget all of them, there are so many.
You need your head examined
Oh lord yes! They’re the ultimate apologists esp. of black athletes. Most of the sycophantic closet case jock sniffers in sports media would melt like a schoolgirl if a muscular black athlete so much as looked their way.
He has not been charged with any crime, yet the NFL can banish him forever. That is racist, politically incorrect, intolerant, and well a few other impolite subjects. The world is upside down.
