White House reportedly assures Hill lawmakers about executive action this year on immigration reform

The White House this week assured anxious Hispanic lawmakers on Capitol Hill that President Obama will use executive action before the holiday season closes to reform U.S. immigration law, after breaking his pledge to make changes by the end of summer.

The message was delivered in a meeting Thursday with White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and other administration officials, including domestic policy adviser Cecilia Munoz, a key player for Obama on the issue, according to Politico.

In all seriousness, were amnesty to be passed, what exactly would anyone do about it? What exactly is the deterrent for him not to pass it?

Legislation is 'passed'; executive edicts are 'declared'. Some would argue that such declarations are irrelevant if unconstitutional and can be ignored; regardless, executive actions only direct those under executive branch & the judiciary & legislature can ignore and or oppose them them.

Anything Obama declares today can be undeclared tomorrow just as quickly by next President.

Sure, any executive action could be reversed by the next president but there is no guarantee of that happening. Also, imagine the damage that would be done between now and then even if the next President did reverse it. How would that damage be undone? Could it be undone? Could we ever recover from the damage?

Gutierrez lashed out: “No more excuses, I don’t care what senator is dangling in the wind, I don’t care what happens. We are moving forward.”

UT, OH---Gutierrez slyly intimated he will meet w/ the super-secret Congressional Hispanic Caucus "to determine a formal response." That means Gutierrez and The Congressional Hispanic Caucus will use tax dollars to conduct a political coup against Democrats.
