Thanks for the link to that Pandemic Flu Information Forum. I was aware of Flu Trackers, but not this forum. I will bookmark it. Do you know of any other such forums?
I share your concern over some of the posters at FR. I like to think that Americans would respond better to a potential epidemic situation than some illiterate superstitious Africans... but that is not the case. I’m afraid that many of my fellow Americans would respond exactly as many of the Africans.

Thanks for the link to that Pandemic Flu Information Forum. I was aware of Flu Trackers, but not this forum. I will bookmark it. Do you know of any other such forums? www.ebolainfo.org www.avianflutalk.com (started years ago over H5N1 scare; I think the founder of this site went on to found ebolainfo.org; considerable overlap with both ebolainfo.org and singtomeohmuse.com). NO cheers, unfortunately. (Avoid fomites, especially; but on one of these sites there was a discussion of casual contact, where MSF (doctors without borders) or WHO or someone, pointed out that while doing contact tracing, they NEVER face the contact directly, but stand behind them a bit and to the side while interviewing. Compare that with the CDC recommendation about full face shields when performing any act on a patient which may generate aerosols, "...including talking".)
