Ian Paisley was an amazing figure in his ability to build his political party from a little one into the ruling party.
Menachem Begin did a similar thing in Israel with a bad image and reputation in his early days just like Paisley.
Then he built coalitions that became the Likud Party and Begin became the leader of his nation.

I was reading about Menachem Begin. In WW2 he was arrested as a British spy by Russia (he hated Britain) and sent to the camps, this was while they were “allies” during WW2!
