Football players at Arkansas State University were ordered to either remove a Christian cross decal from their helmets or modify it into a mathematical sign after a Jonesboro attorney complained that the image violated the U.S. Constitution.
The cross decal was meant to memorialize former player Markel Owens and former equipment manager Barry Weyer, said athletic director Terry Mohajir. Weyer was killed in a June car crash. Owens was gunned down in Tennessee in January.

That part of AR is heavily Democrat and liberal, but Cotton hopes to make inroads there in November.
Fascists and useful idiots.
If they stuck a muslim symbol on their helmets, or a druid symbol, the lawsuit would never have happened.
Just say no.
Christianity will not be allowed!
< and no, we won’t be returning control of your television sets >
Sounds like a bad episode of “the Outer Limits”.
The phone number and home address of the attorney needs to be published all over the Internet.
Congress was way out of line by passing a congressional act that forced the high school to put the cross on the football helmets thereby establishing a religion
legal counsel misses her own disconnect: it “authorizes” the memorialization, it does not “direct” the placement of a cross. Frickin’ spineless, shallow counsel.
How about making the symbol into the Hakenkreuz, a swastika.
Fitting for the politically correct Nazis in charge of the educational ghetto that is the Arkansas State University.
I’m surprised that one of the Christian lawyer groups didn’t offer to take this case on in a pro bono effort.
This seems like it would be a slam-dunk easy victory for the university, though I can see why they wouldn’t want to pursue a legal defense due to the cost associated.
“The phone number and home address of the attorney needs to be published all over the Internet.”
Waste of time.
.
how about this. “NO, we’ll keep it on”.
And if any Judge, LE Officer, Fed, Boy Scout, etc decide to stop or arrest those that ignore this ridiculous threat, they get whacked so hard they drink shakes the rest of their life.
The entire team should just say then that they are not going to play if they can’t have the cross on their helmet. The university may say “we’ll yank your scholarship” but no football no money from advertising. I really think that they university would change their tune very fast.
Where’s Jay Seculo? Get him on the case pronto! Rights of offended lawyers and anonymous complainers trumps actual written constitutional right of an individual or organization to express religious beliefs now? This is so out of control it is laughable. But everyone is afraid of a lawsuit now.
Dude. The counsel is a obviously a leftist moronic useful idiot furthering the agenda. The agenda that is going to get you, your children, their children, your neighbors, and all your other friends and acquaintances killed. Are you mad yet? Obviously not mad enough, or we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
The progressive godless loony toons are WINNING. Evil is called good, and good is called evil. We were warned. The coach is about to wake up, he gets it.
We can no longer afford to take the high road to “show” that we are right, we have every right to defend ourselves. If things continue going like this, we’ll wish we had. Would love to be there to say “I told you so” but I fear I’ll be in a ditch dead right beside you.
