How the hell can 9/11 detainees release a statement from prison celebrating 9/11 ON 9/11?!
They should be sitting in solitary with printouts of their statements duct-taped around their faces.
Screw that - how did they get access to any communications technology at all? Why are they allowed to form a political group at all? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS ADMINISTRATION?!

How can the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, the beginning of the war on terror, be alive and well and kept so by the country he attacked?

Insane and incredible. KSM has either given us all the information we can hope to get from him, or he hasn't. If he hasn't, he should be in solitary 24/7, except when he's being interrogated. If he has, he should be tried as a war criminal (for attacking civilians), found guilty, and executed.
The same goes for many of his compatriots.
A country that lacks the will to do that doesn't deserve to survive, and won't.
