Burger King should tell the senators to ditch the high corporate tax rates.

They also said, in a letter to Burger King Chief Executive Officer Daniel Schwartz that was dated Thursday, that the burger chain uses taxpayer-supported roads, food safety inspectors and other perks of doing business in the United States.
The same reasoning can be applied to all Americans.

These idiots act like BK never paid a cent of US taxes, either income or otherwise.
You use our roads, how unfair! Never mind you paid tens of millions of income taxes and who knows how much of other taxes and fees over the years.
Your money is ours! PAY UP

The Reuters story title is misleading. It implied that it was the sentiment of a group of senators except all of these senators were Dems save for one, Bernie Sanders, who is a socialist.
Just another example of advocacy journalism by al-Reuters.

Wasn’t it the liberal senator Ted Kennedy that made the legislation to take assets offshore to be taxed at a lower rate like the Kennedy fortune went to the Bahamas? Harry Reid would you take your superior intellect to Iraq and talk face to face with ISIS and tell them to stop it.

Not to over simplify things, but my question is:
Do Burger King and all these other companies comply with our tax laws as they now stand? Are they paying what they owe under current tax laws? Will they comply with all tax laws after this inversion purchase goes through?
We can discuss laws and loopholes and what not. But, if these companies are abiding by the law and paying what they owe, then how can these liberal senators complain?
If they feel so strongly about it, then introduce legislston to change the law in this area. Let’s have a debate about what tax policy should be for companies which operate in other countries as well as America.
I just can’t see being super critical of Burger King assuming they are in full compliance with tax laws as currently written.
