My take on the president's remarks addressing the ISIS threat, a primetime do-over of his "no strategy" gaffe:
(1) President Obama is right to identify ISIS as a brutal and dangerous terrorist fighting force that threatens the region, the West, and the United States. He is right to ramp up our efforts to "degrade and ultimately destroy" this group. They are evil, fanatical butchers who only understand force, and must be stopped. Obama asserted that ISIS is neither Islamic nor a state -- but they absolutely act in the name of Islam (as do many terrorist groups), and their goal is to establish and expand an Islamist state, known as a caliphate. They've been frighteningly successful to that end, seizing vast stretches of land and major cities in Syria and Iraq, and amassing more money and resources than any terrorist organization on earth:

Anti-war left chiming in in 5... 4... oh wait, no, not this time.
That’s right. It’s OK when it’s your guy doing it.
And we wouldn’t be doing it if we’d done it right the first time. But you wouldn’t let us do that, either.
Plagiarism ,Reagan and Bush Speeches ,with the Obama NO PLAN
The author claims that few Americans would disagree with the strategy of bombing ISIS forces in Syria but I’m not sure that aspect of the “strategy” has been well thought out.
If Hussein destroys those oil fields held by ISIS — the world will know he is serious about defeating ISIS.
If Hussein does not destroy those oil field held by ISIS — the world will know he is not serious about defeating ISIS.
I don't get it. ISIS rose out of the instability caused by warped regime change initiatives by both GWB and Obama. What became ISIS was armed, funded and trained by the US, and now we find out by citizens of our "friends" Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. Bombing Syria causes more instability and if Assad falls ISIS has a corridor to the Med. It's insane.
The West should change sides and help Assad; instead Obama's still blaming him. US foreign policy is not even remotely what's best for US citizens anymore.
Tom Ridge just said Obama should stop using Fiction Writers , LOL
I stopped listening when Obama said the Islamist State is not Islamist.
Why did the Idiot-in-Chief call it ISIL all throughout his stupid speech?
GWB, September, 2001:
“Now, this war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion. It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.
Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes visible on TV and covert operations secret even in success.
We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place until there is no refuge or no rest.
And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists.”
IS IT TIME TO ASK BHO IF HE IS WITH US OR IS HE WITH THE TERRORISTS?
I didn’t even listen to that arrogant pos, but I did read the transcript
But thousands of people who think they're Muslim aren't 'Muslim'? Gimme a break.
Good.point. wacko groups such as Westboro are said by liberals to typify how Christians are. But liberals do not use the same criteria to view Islamo fascists who claim they do what they do in the name of Allah and Islam. Go figure.
I had to rearrange my sock drawer.
ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Here is a map the Levant (ISIL, notice it includes Israel
