"Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has been publicly called out by the owner of a local eatery for leaving a 20-cent tip on a bill totaling more than $60.
The Philadelphia burger joint PYT shared a receipt online showing what was described as Mr McCoy's paltry tip.
'The twenty cent tip that the Eagles' LeSean McCoy just left our server on his $60 check is going to come in really handy for that new official NFL McCoy jersey he had his heart set on,' the message that accompanied the receipt read. 'That is a .03% tip. New record!'"

Um, aren’t tips voluntary and optional?
Pay up, Mr. Pink, ya cheap bastard!
I can see McCoy’s reaction:
What? I left a tip?
Wouldn’t know it the way a lot of waitstaff are acting.
20 cents is actually 0.33% of $60. Not .03% that would be about 2 cents.
I wonder how long until patrons start suing these places for the online shame games.
Apparently the waiter must not realize the real reason for the bad tip.
When they act like that they get the two pennies treatment. I don’t want them thinking I forgot to tip.
Attempting to publicly humiliate a customer rather than hold the server responsible for a tip, which is so obviously chosen to send a message, is simply to confirm that the owner of the establishment shares the entitlement mentality of the server. This might explain why bad service goes unpunished in this establishment.
I wonder what other customer behaviors might merit public shaming by this owner? Sloshing one's coffee into the saucer? Spilling salt on the table. Asking for a second napkin? Perhaps the owner should post his public shaming policy so that customers are forewarned that they might face more than just bad food or bad service.
i think people who leave small or no tips on large tabs are dinks.
i think that unless extreme circumstances are at play, the people who name people who leave small VOLUNTARY tips, are also dinks.
if you want to make sure servers get tips, force people to pay a certain percentage tip by adding it to the bill, but make everyone aware of it before they “get surprised” on the bill. that way they can decide if they want to eat there or not.
Giving the bros the benefit of the doubt, rude, bad or no service IS possible.
The point to me though is that it’s these kind of incidents that continue to dent the reputation of the NFL. I used to eat, sleep and drink (literally) the Cowboys. Haven’t watched em in 20 years!
These morons need to be trained, if possible. I suggest a 150 hour course (1 full month) upon being drafted! After that 10 hours “continuing education” per year.
Courses could include how not to hit your wife, how not to do drugs, how not to murder people, how not to assault people in bars, how not to kill yourself in car wrecks, how to tip, how to accept NO from a woman, how to count, how to read, ALL WAYS TO DAMAGE THE REPUTATION OF YOUR EMPLOYER THE NFL and what that means to your future, .....and on and on, endlessly!
What did I forget? Rape?
He admits to getting the order wrong and then avoiding the table even though they were calling for him to come back.
And I'll betcha the waiter is one of them fellers who engage in an alternate lifestyle because he continually claims they were rude to him.
I am surprised their wasn't a claim of hate tipping a homosexual waiter.
I do not mean this in any racist manner , but..... I work in the tourism industry and have for years. Black Americans DO NOT TIP. Everyone I know in this business here shares my observation. It like they come from a different county or culture where tipping is not practiced . Australia , Japan, many places in Europe. Whenever I have an African American guest I never expect a tip . It removes any anxiety for not receiving one anyway.
My bet is he screwed up ...meant to leave $20. and left off some zeroes.
I screwed up once as I thought someone else in the party was going to get the tip ....I picked up the tab for all...and also left a couple of extra bucks too.(not near enough)
The waitress really let me have it
I would boycott the place.
This is a shakedown threat to the public.
I read the whole story and Im wrong ...these people are idiots
This is nothing. I work in the Nevada casino industry. Last weekend we had someone win $20,000. They tipped the slot people who helped them not a dime.
Yes. 0.33% not 0.03%.
Perhaps it was a 20 dollar tip.
They are. However some bars & restaurants report the sales of bartenders, waiters, and waitresses to the IRS. I don't know if this is an IRS regulation, or just something the company I worked for did to keep the IRS off their back. As I recall (as it's been many years now), the IRS "assumes" that the staff that gets tips will receive a certain percentage, and it's reported as income to the IRS. I seem to recall that the percentage reported when I worked as a waiter was at least 12%. ow, maybe this was because I worked in a place similar to a TGI Fridays, and a national chain, we had to report it. But in this case, the waiter/waitress would be paying FICA, state, and federal tax on $7.12 (given a $60 bill). This is why GOOD wait staff do all they can to make the customer happy. Because the happier the customer, the more the waiter can make.
