Well it’s not like new evidence came to light.
All that happened in the last 24 hrs was that TMZ released the full video to the public.
Suddenly the NFL suspends Ray Rice indefinitely.
So either -
(A) the NFL never saw the video initially, or
(B) the NFL did see it, but didn’t consider the episode a big deal and was prepared to bury it - until it became public.
And since we’re always hearing what a powerful team of investigators the NFL has at its disposal, that leaves only option (B).
Goddell has a lot of ‘splaining to do.
Bet those investigators are crawling all over TMZ and their people tonight trying to stop the release or find out what it is about.
It is hard to imagine that if the NFL had seen this video, that they could actually believe it would never be public.
Do you seriously believe executives at that level could be stupid enough to think that nobody would want to get this video out to the public?
And therefore, it also seems absurd that they would have SEEN this video, and then made the statements they made, knowing that the video would EVENTUALLY be released.
Now, I COULD believe that someone IN the NFL could have seen the video, and decided to try to bury it, and keep it from the other NFL execs making a decision. They may want to get those execs in trouble, or have other motive.
Agreed. We all knew he knocked her out. What did people expect to see? He is an ass. Two game suspension was a joke. So now the NFL policy is supposed to be 6 games. Second offense is lifetime ban. Did that change? Stupid policy but it is their rules. Does it change if there is video? Again, everyone knew he knocked her out. They need help. Again, two games w as ridiculous, but now. The NFL just looks stupid.
C) the NFL thought she was struck be a meteor.
