One day before the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, President Barack Obama plans to address the nation on the threat posed by ISIS extremists -- telling NBC News the U.S. will “hunt down" the terrorists "wherever they are.”
The president revealed his plans for the upcoming address during a wide-ranging, exclusive interview on NBC’s Meet the Press.
“What I'm going to be asking the American people to understand is, number one, this is a serious threat,” Obama said about the speech, which is not expected to be a prime time address. “Number two, we have the capacity to deal with it.”
Obama emphasized he will not advocate for the deployment of U.S. ground troops in the region, saying it would be “a profound mistake” to put American boots on the ground in Syria as some critics have suggested.
“This is not the equivalent of the Iraq war,” he said, stressing that the United States will work with “regional partners” like Iraqi and Kurdish forces and Syrian rebel troops to degrade the terror group’s capacities.

No those were the "moderate" members of ISIS. The extremists are the ones who have publicly expressed disapproval of Obama. Both of them.
This is what Obama should say “OK guys I screwed up. President Bush was right and I was wrong. We will seek a coalition of troops to go back into Iraq like George W Bush did. I have reached out to George W Bush who has graciously agreed to provide consulting services to me on how to fight terrorists. I am grateful for his help since I obviously have SFB and haven’t a clue”....

This is all one really needs to know. But I'll add more:
Obama supported Islamists over a tamed and submissive Muammar Gaddafi.
Obama sent $900 million dollars to the region governed by Hamas--right after he seized power in January of 2009.
Obama ignored the pleas of the Western allies among the population of Iran when they were trying to get something closer to a true democratic republic--as people were slaughtered in the streets, he went to eat ice cream.
Obama turned tail and ran away from Iraq, because he was so incompetent as to not be able to negotiate a status of troops agreement with the government thereof.
Obama drew a red line regarding Syria, then denied he drew a red line, then bent over as Russia decided to take charge of the matter.
Obama pretended to care about the situation in Afghanistan by a "surge", but issued rules of engagement that were dangerous to our troops. He added salt to that wound by announcing a "date certain" for troop withdrawals. We lost more men in just a couple years under Obama than in the 6 years that Bush was in charge.
Obama has regularly been hostile to our best ally in that region, Israel.
WE could go on, but the picture is clear: Obama really isn't serious about destroying ISIS, just as he wasn't serious about Boko Haram in Nigeria or about stemming the tide of illegal aliens in America.
Singularly the worst occupant of the Oval Office. EVAH.
How pedantic and patronizing… Spoken like a true member of Columbia academe. I think most Americans have long realized the serious threat involved – and real adults in charge would have taken the needed actions already.

Just read an article in Stars and Strips titled “In place of ‘boots on the ground,’ US seeks contractors for Iraq”. Two things popped into my mind when I read it; 1. It works for Obama’s meme of no boots on the ground as he can blame the contract companies for anything that goes wrong. 2. And any contractor better beware that if the same “Security Agreement” that was in effect in 2009 when I was there, you’ll fall under Iraqi laws and courts. The admin threw contractors under the bus after the Blackwater deal in Baghdad.
