or another possibility:
5. This already has happened and we are all caught in some bizarre space-time loop in which events keep repeating themselves - and this is why we keep electing Democrats.

Given that the universe is massive if not infinite, there would have been some other race that would have done this experiment which would have 'obliterated the universe'.They did. We call it The Big Bang.

Or our universe could be the by-product of the destruction of another universe?

it might become mega-stable at energies above 100bn giga-electron-volts (GeV). Which may already have been achieved in a super black hole billions of light years away (ago). The switch on the Doomsday Machine may have been already thrown; we just don't know it yet. What's on TV tonight?

Considering the universe has been here...forever...either it's happened before or has never happened.
Jeez what a waste of reporting or is it just because Stephen Hawkings spoke?

If a billion exploding super novas haven’t had enough energy to destabilize it, then it can’t be destabilized.
Next.

Wow that global warming crap must really be falling apart faster than thought if academia has to run all the way to particle physics for their next Chicken Little scenario.

and that there would not be any warning to the danger...Even if we did have warning, what would we do? Plan an escape?

Does Fringe really get better after Season 1? I can see the appeal of the show, but I couldn’t make it past the 15th or so episode.
I was never a big X Files fan and that show reeked of X Files :-).

There was a movie in the 80’s called Creator with Peter O’Toole. One of my favorite lines (I’m paraphrasing). “When science finally climbs to the mountaintop, it will find God has been sitting there all along.”
To: left that other site
I know the whole country is basically divided on that one but I’m in the “it was great” camp.
