Good man. He started the business that would become Chick-Fil-A when my mom was just one year old. I’ll try to stop by Chick-Fil-A today to honor his memory.

Now watch it be taken over by “enlightened” managers who want to make peace with the gay community.

Cathy also was known for his efforts to help youth. In 1984 he created the WinShape Foundation to help "shape winners" through youth support programs and scholarships. He also created a long-term program for foster children that has foster care homes in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Brazil.What? A conservative that doesn't want to kill and eat the chilrun?
He was a good man, RIP.

“S. Truett Cathy, the billionaire founder of the privately held Chick-fil-A restaurant chain that famously closes on Sundays but also drew unwanted attention on gay marriage in recent years because of his familys conservative views, died early Monday, a company spokesman said.”
AP sure knows how to write an obitchuary. But, they had to work hard to squeeze their obvious distaste for Mr. Cathy into that first, run-on sentence.
What a bunch of a++holes.

It still says a lot about a man who can start from nothing and build a billion dollar business.

When Perimeter Mall (north of Atlanta) opened way back in the day, there was a Chick-fil-A. I am not a fan of chicken & never ordered any food, but I loved their Cokes.
For some reason, their Cokes were the best—just the right mixture of syrup, carbonated water and & carbonation. Add the shaved ice and it was perfection!
Sounds silly, but after all these years, I still remember how a Coke from Chick-fil-A tasted.

Cathy's son, Dan, who is currently chairman and president of the chain, had told the Baptist Press in 2012 that the company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family." Gay rights groups and others called for boycotts and kiss-ins at Cathy's restaurants. The Jim Henson Co. pulled its Muppet toys from kids' meals, while politicians in Boston and Chicago told the chain it is not welcome there. The controversy later subsided.This is AP's way of saying that "In the weeks following attacks by homosexual militants, millions of loyal customers organized immediately, waiting patiently in long lines to be served, and the chain registered its best quarter ever."

God Bless S. Truett Cathy. He had the courage as a Christian to honor God and families by keeping his business closed on Sundays at a time that few would consider let alone do what he did. May his family continue to have the courage to follow his lead and continue to honor God and Family on Sundays.
