George Osborne was on Sunday scrambling to head off a surge in support for Scottish independence with a promise of more powers for Holyrood, but behind the scenes some senior Tories were preparing for possible defeat.
... Rupert Murdoch, the media tycoon, claimed in a tweet that Mr Salmonds private polls gave the Yes vote an advantage of 54-46

Salmond's private polls predict 54-46 Yes. Desperate last ten days ahead for both sides. Most powerful media, BBC, totally biased for No.— Rupert Murdoch (@rupertmurdoch) September 7, 2014
I’m pulling for the separation. Let Scotland be free to choose.
The was I see it from across the pond in America it’s a win-win:
If Salmond wins and gains independence for Scotland then it will dilute the labour vote in the rest of the UK (and therefore make it more ‘conservative’), it will also FORCE the socialists in Scotland to grow up when they can’t rely upon the welfare from London. Third (though it might screw Mr. Cameron as the P.M. that let the break up of the UK happen, WHY is that such a bad thing with UKIP surging)??
If Salmond loses, and Scotland decides against independence, then it will continue to strengthen the UK, as well as Mr. Salmond and his pro-independence socialists will be discredited, and maybe Scotland will grow up and an actual opposition will be able to form to left-wing policies.
WWWWD? What would William Wallace do?
William Wallace emigrated to Texas long ago.
“The was I see it from across the pond in America its a win-win”
I think there’s no winning from this side of the pond.
The American voter has voted to suckle from the teat
of the socialist pig and doesn’t even know the UK
from England nor could locate Britain on a map.
It would kill the Labor party for Scotland to secede. By population Scotland should have about 4 members of Parliament. Instead they have 40, all socialists, all labor party. The Scots won’t do it though. Something like forty percent of the population of Scotland are employed by the British government. Most of the rest are unemployed.

Well said. The English are better off without the socialist and rapidly homosexualizing Scots.
Two militaries on one island. What could go wrong ? How soon until they start fighting over North Sea island.
North Sea oil
Just wait until the Scottish socialists have to pay for their own government infrastructure and armed forces. Maybe they can get some Greeks to come in and consult on how to run things. (sarc)
