AUSTIN Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis reveals in a new campaign memoir that she terminated two pregnancies for medical reasons in the 1990s, including one where the fetus had developed a severe brain abnormality.
Davis writes in Forgetting to be Afraid that she had an abortion after an exam revealed that the brain of the fetus had developed in complete separation on the right and left sides. The Associated Press purchased an early copy of the book, which hits stores Tuesday.

Regardless of the reason, doubling down on her “claim to fame” has to be an unbelievably absurd “tactic”, IMO.
Basically, she’s resorted to basing her entire campaign upon abortion, regardless of the consequences.
In the end, this race will reflect more upon the state and values of our society. It now has nothing to do with her other than her being a figurehead that reflects upon one segment of society against the rest (be it different segments or the rest as a whole).
This race reflects the path of the future of this country, IMO.
If she wins, CW2 is inevitable. If she loses, as she absolutely should, it will simply forestall the inevitability of scenario 1.
Sooner or later, CW2 must commence, and although this “reason” (abortion) will not be the deciding factor, it WILL be a barometer of what is to come, IMO.
campaign memoir?
I have waited to respond. Mainly because others can argue better than I can (medically) on this subject. As you can see, all the following comments (after yours) reinforce
my simple statement (especially #19) ... murder.
This must be a mistake. They are telling the truth? No way.
Yes I was going to say they split the brain to treat severe epilepsy and the people function OK.
I am no fan of Davis but ending an ectopic pregnancy is NOT murder
Ectopic pregnancies IF allowed to continue kill both mother and child
Wendy is so far behind she’s throwing everything at the wall. Including her abortions.
She is trying to make it all about abortion again. She is not qualified to make it about anything else. It has to all be about abortion for her.
So because she’s a killer that makes her a better candidate?
Though Bill Clinton probably only said things that were politically expedient at the time, he said at least one thing with which I agree:
Abortions should be safe, legal, and RARE.
An ectopic pregnancy certainly qualifies. I believe God gave us knowledge and tools with which to deal with adversities. It knowing when and how that makes the difference.
Free will and all that.
Democrats LOOOOOVE Dead Babies, more than Nazis love killing Jews.
I dont consider ending an ectopic pregnancy an abortion. If allowed to continue the pregnancy will kill both the baby and mother. The only choice is how many die, one or two.
An ectopic pregnancy is, IMO, one of the few valid reasons to terminate a pregnancy: Except in vanishingly rare circumstances, the baby is dead; the only question is whether the mother will also die. One death is tragic, but it’s less than two.
The brain separation issue, based on my admittedly limited knowledge, is a different story. I do not justify that abortion in any way, shape, or form.
I’ve heard the corpus callosum being severed deliberately, as a last-line treatment for epilepsy, as well. The baby could have lived a full and productive life.
My thoughts exactly...seems awfully convenient to admit now that neither was viable... perhaps someone was about to leak her abortions?
An Ectopic Pregnancy is not really a ‘Pregnancy” at all.
The Ovum is not attached to the Uterine Wall, so in a normal situation where it does not attach, it leaves the Body through the normal Menstrual Cycle. If it attaches itself in the Fallopian Tube, the Mother could die.
Although Abortion Barbie is acting like terminating an Ectopic Pregnancy somehow enhances her Democrat Resume,
she did nothing that any other Woman would have to do when faced with the same situation.
The second situation was a completely different situation.
Agree on both points
>>>The second situation was a completely different situation<<<
Did I really write that sentence? Long day, geez...
