A 16-year-old boy who was being driven to a hospital by friends after he was shot at a San Jose party died because police officers stopped the vehicle and then failed to provide medical help, the boy's father said in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed Thursday.

Gerardo Jorge Medina was struck in the stomach by a stray bullet fired at a party on the 10300 block of Murtha Road in eastern San Jose on June 13, 2013, according to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

Actually I would have passed on by now if I had waited for an ambulance. Wife took me to the ER and got a call from ambulance company telling her they could not find house while I was being flooded with clot busters. Not a knock on 911, ambulance drivers or cops. Just thatmy house is hard to find even by locals and I could tell time was of the essence.

Your anecdote reminded me of the time my 2-yr-old had a siezure and turned blue. SHE STOPPED BREATHING AND TURNED BLUE.

We live 5 minutes from the Medical District. We threw her in the car and raced to the hospital.

When we got there the medical people reprimanded me for not calling 911 and waiting for the professionals. I refrained from giving them a dose of STFU because I feared them contacting CPS.

The emergency services in Houston are strained because ghetto folks think they go to the front of the line if they arrive at the hospital in an ambulance for even the most minor malady, which is not true, but every "hangnail in the hood" competes with real life and death emergencies.

I percieve injustice in that.

Huh?

So you come in your buddies pickup missing an arm with said arm in your lap and because you didn’t wait for the meat wagon you sit and wait?

sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen to me when they roll in the welfare queen who rode the ammmbuuulance because she ain’t got no car for her hang nail.

I’d call 911 from your car if that is the case, tell the dispatcher to tell the cop your headed directly for the ER and once your passenger is unloaded you will be ready for their tickets ;)

Probably won’t work and they will pit ya or stop strip ya an haul you off to jail, but eh, it’s worth a try right?

Be sure to leave the dog at home.
