A 16-year-old boy who was being driven to a hospital by friends after he was shot at a San Jose party died because police officers stopped the vehicle and then failed to provide medical help, the boy's father said in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed Thursday.
Gerardo Jorge Medina was struck in the stomach by a stray bullet fired at a party on the 10300 block of Murtha Road in eastern San Jose on June 13, 2013, according to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

“Don’t try to defend 911 medical emergency calls as the right way to go in every situation”
Well gee if you are gut shot it is better to have PARAMEDICS treating you than having your gang friends driving you around in a car
“TWENTY MINUTES. Its took them TWENTY MINUTES to call for help for that kid.”

According to Burris, the civil rights lawyer who is suing the police. He also accused them of racial profiling.
Who knows what really happened.

If I have one of mine in a vehicle, who is very serious or critical, I’m not stopping for any cop.
Hopefully when I drive towards the hospital and pull into the hospital ER the cop will have slight clue what is likely occurring...I can only hope.
How about they all shoot each other this weekend and the last one standing gets arrested?
For 14 months.
You are defending state employees that need to be held to a higher standard.
I won't shut up.
I don't want excuses, I want compliance.
That's why I'm working so hard on my project to cut LE budgets by 30% where the LE obviously isn't doing what it's getting big bucks to do.

Not always.
Sometimes, the city doesn't give a rats tail about meeting county requirements on medical response times.

You’ll have some big LEO unions to fight...

I have noticed that certain symptoms get more attention than others. Was this before or after Ebola made the news?
Good point! LOL

Some of the unions are so powerful in CA, some of these cops retire at 100k +++ per year for live...This while in their fifties...lol
I'm trying to figure out an post-facto dodge, like the government uses so often.
/johnny
Er....for life too...
Good luck..

So state employees don’t have the right to defend themselves and nobody on FR can bring that up and what their possible defense might be without being attacked by you and the other “anti-statists?”
But that's not what this thread is about.
It's about an alleged act of negligence by a state employee.
And when told by an obvious state employee to drop it because I don't have all the facts, and then he goes on to tell me what really happened....
Yeah, I'm going to be very skeptical and go looking for independent facts, like San Jose has a crappy medical 911 response time, and the county agrees.
I didn't attack anyone except government in general, the way it's being run now.
No personal attacks were intended, and if you feel personally attacked, I apologize. Unless you are associated with a government, and need your budget cut 30%, and retirements retroactively reduced.
