TOPEKA, KS -- Greg Ormans deceptive campaign hit another low Wednesday by announcing a bogus list of Kansas endorsementssome of which are current and long-time supporters of Pat Roberts.
In a Topeka press conference, Orman claimed support from Traditional Republicans for Common Sense.
Yet, on that list are former Third District U.S. Represenative Jan Meyers, former State Sen. Bob Marshall of Ft. Scott, and former Kansas Rep. John Golden of Goodland, all of whom are strong supporters of Senator Roberts.
Roberts executive campaign manager Leroy Towns said it is likely there are many others on the list who do not support Orman and in fact support Pat Roberts.
This is just more deception from a candidate who wants voters to believe he is a nonpartisan independent when, in fact, he is a liberal Democrat by experience and by philosophy, Towns said.
It is very disappointing to me personally that the group known as Traditional Republicans for Common Sense has endorsed Greg Orman over Senator Pat Roberts, said former Rep. Meyers.
I have not endorsed Greg Orman. Quite to the contrary, I am voting for Pat Roberts and wholeheartedly endorse Pat for re-election.
I have never met Greg Orman, although, I understand he is really not an Independent, but is a Democrat. In 2008, he announced he was running for the Senate against Pat, but withdrew in favor of former Democrat Congressman Jim Slattery.
Also, it is a fact that Greg Orman has contributed a great deal of money to Democrat candidates for federal office in 2008. He made large contributions to numerous Democrats including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Harry Reid.
I served with Pat Roberts in the US House of Representatives for 12 years and, in 1994 when the Republicans won the majority in the House, he became Chairman of the Agriculture Committee and I was chairman of the Small Business Committee. Ive known and respected Pat Roberts for years. He is a man of unparalleled integrity, loyalty and commitment to Kansas and the Nation.
I urge all my friends and past supporters to vote for Pat Roberts.
Former Senator Bob Marshall added, It is important that Republicans gain control of the US Senate, and, now more than ever, we need Pat Roberts' experience and seniority in Washington fighting for Kansas. I support Pat for the US Senate."
These endorsements add to the overwhelming and unprecedented support garnered by Pat Roberts ahead of the 2014 elections. Roberts is endorsed by 30 state senators, 81 state representatives, the entire Kansas congressional delegation, and all statewide GOP officials on the ballot this year. Additionally, he has support from the American Conservative Union, the NRA, the Chamber of Commerce, the NFIB, National Right to Life, Kansans for Life, the Kansas State Rifle Association, the Kansas Farm Bureau, the Kansas Livestock Association, the Kansas Black Republican Council, Kansas Realtors, Senator Bob Dole, Speaker Newt Gingrich, Governor Mike Huckabee, leading conservative and Washington Times Opinion Editor David Keene, and many others.
One might expect the MEDIA to do their job and do that...but nope.
any conservatives on the ballot?
Busted.
People are going to see this guy is a charlatan and a poser as well as a proxy for the Dems and BHO.
It ain’t rocket science.
The demoncrats are trying to pull out all the stops to give them a chance to take this Senate seat. I didn’t buy any of Greg Orman’s garbage from the beginning.

There is the libertarian...
Libertarians are not conservatives and neither are populists.
The smell of desperation and narrowing margins is wafting through the air in this tacky, negative ad tossed out by Roberts. He’s sensing trouble. He’s right.
Roberts has been a seat warmer for the do nothing Establishment wing of the “R” Party, short on heroics, mum on issues and basically another coat holder for the Obama senate, stirring no waves, and of help to no one making them (because they would be conservative, of course).
These milquetoast types have been sleep walking long enough, powdering their wigs, feathering their multitude of nests and building their golden egg. Make a real difference or go, please.
The Democrats are behind Orman’s candidacy. They didn’t seem so upset when Taylor left the race and it didn’t take them long to throw their support behind Orman. The Dems ran both these clowns out there and they chose the one they think can beat Roberts.
What utter nonsense!!!!!
Pat Roberts has a cumulative ACU rating of 96%.
Try living where I do in CA and being stuck with Boxer and Feinstein for over 20 years.
Roberts may not be 100% perfect. But he does look pretty damn good from where I sit.
A vote for Orman is a vote BHO and Harry Reid. Period.
This race is a no brainer.
GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is too much at stake to waste on such nonsense.
So I guess you’re ok with Senator Reid continuing to control the Senate then? I guess you’re ok with Obama packing our Federal Judiciary with very LEFTWING Judges that rule on things like Marriage, Abortion, and Federal overreach, taxes, justice..?
ACU ratings are bs becuse they don’t include cloture votes.
/johnny
Well then let’s review some of the key votes that mattered:
1) Roberts voted against Obamacare. Check
2) Roberts voted against Dodd-Frank. Check
3) Roberts voted against the Porkulus. Check
4) Roberts voted against Cap and Trade. Check.
5) Roberts voted against BHO’s SCOTUS appointments. Check.
In addition, Roberts.....
1) Is Pro-Life
2) Is Pro-traditional marriage
3) Is Pro drill baby drill
4) Is Pro lower taxes
5) Is against amnesty for illegals.
I could go and on. Why throw away a usually safe Senate seat and elect a charlatan who contributed to BHO’s presidential campaign? DOES NOT MAKE ONE OUNCE OF SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t know if JRF actually votes in Kansas but I do. Pat Roberts will get my vote this fall. What you have said about Pat Roberts is correct - his voting record is not a major problem. I don’t like the residency thing about Roberts but Orman is a liberal Democrat who is being deceitful about his history, his campaign, and his loyalties.
All you need to do is read the article above to see that Orman is in fact a BHO supported.
Independent???? My derriere.
I agree totally. Although I do understand people's frustration around here with Washington DC and the throw-all-the-bums-out mentality. I am almost there with them too but Roberts shouldn't be one of them. At least for now. He has proved his conservative worth far more than not.
I do hope the people's frustration doesn't go to waste though, with him and Moran getting the message to distance themselves from the GOPe.

Pat will pull this out, but seeing that list of RINO heads supporting him, you bet, I am pleased as punch that he is having to perspire FOR A CHANGE to get it done.
Conservatism should matter. It’s the last chance for the country before we are turned into South America. What did Roberts ever do for the Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions efforts? Squat. That was what he did. He sat on McConnell’s lap.
Because California is permanently beached by the weight of Marx lovers is no reason to prop up, in these times, the empty suits the Establishment R’s have strategically produced for us in red states.
So many are so sick of it, and that sentiment is growing, or Roberts margin would be a lot healthier than it is.
Roberts also voted against cloture for funding obamacare, as did Cruz.
ACU ratings are still bs.

I would support Roberts based on his cloture votes not supporting the liberal agenda.
ACU ratings are still bs.

Only Sessions,Risch and Scott are more conservative than Roberts in 2014.
Roberts is better than Mike Lee and Ron Johnson on immigration.

HERE ARE TODAYS CHAMPIONS WHO TRIED TO STOP THE AMNESTY BILL IN ITS TRACKS
ALABAMA: Sessions & Shelby
ARKANSAS: Boozman
IDAHO: Crapo & Risch
ILLINOIS: Kirk (fake vote)
IOWA: Grassley
KANSAS: Roberts
Roberts is in the top 14 on immigration.
“Conservative” Ron Johnson was with Kelly Ayotte attacking Cruz over the shutdown as well.
“As a result, I support immigration reform and a path to legal status for people whose only crime was to enter the country illegally when they came here to work. “
