A man killed by police officers in Texas on Saturday was armed only with a pellet gun and was shot more than 80 times, leaving him with 'no face', family members said.
The Laredo Police Department said it placed six officers who allegedly opened fire on Jose Walter Garza on administrative duties pending an internal investigation, media reported.
The incident, much of which was recorded on a surveillance camera, took place outside a truck stop on Saturday at around 2 am.

Yeah, you're right. It's not like the security guard at the truck stop told several of the police officers that it was a pellet gun before the shooting. Oh, wait...
Eyewitness Account Conflicts with Official Statement by Laredo Police Department l
Victor Treviño is the CFO of the 5301 West Laredo Gateway Truck Stop. He shares his account and personal questions on the shooting of Jose Walter Garza by the Laredo police department.
Treviño apparently has some law experience, also.
FWIW, I didn't know about this video when I posted the original article. I just thought the 80 rounds was kind of excessive, almost like you gave a pack of coon dogs semi-autos after they treed the coon.

lol, that last line..
Over 20 squad cars? AR-15s? Opening up on the guy while there were patrons in the truck stop, without notifying the other peasants?
The gate guard, who we know doesn't have the intense professional training of the police officers, wandered up to the "perp" and asked to look at the BB gun, then told him to put it away.
Later, the gate guard told several of the officers before the shooting that it was a BB gun.
Headphones, again.
Fistbumps? Taking pictures of the dead guy with a cellphone?
bump
Also, what were the police told by dispatch, and who called the police and what did that person say?
But none of this is going to stop you from stirring up animosity toward the police, is it? Why bother waiting for the facts to come out, when you can do the FR equivalent of looting and destruction?
If by "not verify" you mean that the gate guard asked to look at it, handled it, and then told the guy to put it away, then I guess you're right.
Or not.
No, I think the fist-bumps, the cellphone picture of the dead guy, the hosing down of the area without notifying the peasantry, & the ignoring of the gate guard is going to stir up animosity toward the police in this instance.
Why bother waiting for the facts to come out
You're right - why should I believe my lying eyes when I watch the video?
It's an interview with the CFO of the truck stop.
It's damning.
Where did Trevino say the guard handled the gun? How many police officers did the guard tell? Did he say he was sure it was a BB gun, or he wasn’t sure? Why didn’t the guard call 911 and tell them it was a BB gun?
Trevino is also a lawyer. Wouldn’t that making him biased, spreading hearsay that could deflect liability from his company?
What was the purpose of the fist bump? How do you know?
What was the purpose of the picture? I see officers toward the end of the security video shining lights on the suspect as one is writing a report. Could the picture have helped with a preliminary report, or explaining the scene to a superior?
I guess you don’t know anything about the 911 call and why so many officers were dispatched.
All better then for many here
Kill mentally I’ll and pothead!
And cool police training...
A triple for JBLs
Treviño: "The gate guard saw him [the perforated guy] with what appeared to be a gun. He [the gate guard] saw it in a bag. He [the gate guard] said, "Hey, is that a real gun?" And the individual [the perforated guy] answered, "Hey, no, it's not. It's a BB gun - I bought it." He [the gate guard] said, "Let me see it. OK, put it away. You can't have that out. And if you gonna have it out, you have to leave. And you can't have that bottle of wine here, either." The individual [the perforated guy] complied, and he just fell asleep."
How many police officers did the guard tell?
You have to inform ALL the coon dogs with semi-autos, or it doesn't count? Interesting...
Check post #61. There’s new info.
It is damning, but I’ve got a Benjamin, and Crosman that will kill (at least one person) as fast as a Remington 700....any calibre.
OK, we'll go.
You have to drink a bottle of wine, go to sleep, and be wearing headphones when I wake you up.
We'll see what your howitzer can do then. LOL! :)
Schizophrenics are more dangerous than the psychiatric profession is willing to acknowledge, imho. They also have a higher rate of suicide than the normal.
See post #61. There’s further information.
Guess ya got no sense of bein’ responsible for yer self.
When is the last time you were drunked up, passed out, in a truck stop parking lot?
Excessive, yes. That said, if some asshat points any weapon at me, they better shoot first...I’ll empty a mag in their face.
