If by "not verify" you mean that the gate guard asked to look at it, handled it, and then told the guy to put it away, then I guess you're right.

Where did Trevino say the guard handled the gun? How many police officers did the guard tell? Did he say he was sure it was a BB gun, or he wasn’t sure? Why didn’t the guard call 911 and tell them it was a BB gun?
Trevino is also a lawyer. Wouldn’t that making him biased, spreading hearsay that could deflect liability from his company?
What was the purpose of the fist bump? How do you know?
What was the purpose of the picture? I see officers toward the end of the security video shining lights on the suspect as one is writing a report. Could the picture have helped with a preliminary report, or explaining the scene to a superior?
I guess you don’t know anything about the 911 call and why so many officers were dispatched.
