In a July 8, 2014 interview with Egypt's Channel 1, Egyptian political scientist Ammar Ali Hassan said that the Jews had stolen Egypt's gold and treasures when they left ancient Egypt. The character of Shakespeare's Shylock is "a replica of the Jew who lived in Egypt a merchant and a loan shark," he said, adding: "We demand that they return the treasures they stole from us."
Following are excerpts:
Ammar Ali Hassan: The Jews wanted [Egypt] to pay them compensation to the tune of dozens of billions of dollars, although our economy is very hard off. More importantly, they wanted to establish their false claim to historical rights over Egyptian lands.
We know for a fact that Moses was in this land. Most of the Jews who left Egypt to wander in the Sinai Desert were the Jews who defied Moses and rejected his preachings. When they left, they stole Egypt's gold and treasures.
Many of the studies on Jewish financial conduct in the history of Egypt, as well as in the history of humanity as a whole... Take, for example, the character of Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice," by Shakespeare. This character is a replica of the Jew who lived in Egypt a merchant and a loan shark, who deposits his profits abroad, instead of investing them in the country. This is why the Jews have plundered this country all the time beginning with the theft of Egypt's gold in the days of Moses and culminating in what they did to our economy prior to the 1952 revolution.

[Muslim Brotherhood official] Essam Al-Aryan [offered the Jews compensation], but I say the opposite: We demand that they return the treasures they stole from us, including the interest they denied the Egyptian economy for many decades.

The Jews should send this guy a bill for 300 years of slave labor.
Better yet - how about Israel putting a mechanic’s lien on the pyramids?
Plus 4000 years of interest....
*******
To my surprise, I agree with the guy, but I think he still has some problems with his argument.
1. Statue of limitations: I think that Ramses the Great and the other Pharaohs had only a 1000 year time frame in which to put in their claim, but it looks like that 1000 year time period has long past. Sorry.
2. Alexander the Great and Caesar: The Pharaohs should have complained to Alexander the Great when he conquered Egypt around 300 B.C. and Caesar when he conquered Egypt in Cleopatra's time. Sorry, again.
3. United Nations: The Pharaohs should have filed a complaint with the United Nations when they had a chance. Too bad.
4. EXODUS: I enjoyed reading this great book about the Jews in Israel right after the end of World War II in the 1940s. It was later turned into a wonderful movie starring Paul Newman.
Just one-upping the reparations folks by a couple thousand years...
Voodoo.
The New York Times probably helps them. They are the experts.
It is weird for sure, but I wonder if blacks will still be asking for reparations, 3,500 years from now?
Crazy is as crazy does. There’s no end to this. I supposed the Jewish diaspora should put in for 400 years of slavery on a per capita basis. I mean what are the pyramids worth over time?
Now you're talking. Reparations!
LOL
well, they were all pretty dumb then.i have been in every desert in the us.long haul trucker and you are right about everything looking the same but one can follow the sun.but thats just me i never read the mosses story.
The gold was not stolen, it was given. Sort of as an encouragement to hurry up and leave before they had to endure another lesson from the One, True, God.
Also, the people currently living is Egypt, have darn little to do with the Egyptians of era of the Exodus.
I’m with you. REPARATIONS!!!
Sure. Just as soon as the Arab Muslims return Egypt to the Copts.
The Amplified Bible states slightly differently:
Ex 12:35-36
35) “The Israelites did according to the word of Moses; and they [urgently] asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver and of gold, and clothing.”
36) “The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And, they stripped the Egyptians [of those things].
