Garry Kasparov: It’s a War, Stupid!
Time ^ | 8-30-2014 | Garry Kasparov

Posted on 08/30/2014 8:50:50 PM PDT by Semper911

As Russian troops and armored columns advance in Eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian government begs for aid from the free world it hoped would receive it and protect it as one of its own. The leaders of the free world, meanwhile, are struggling to find the right terminology to free themselves from the moral responsibility to provide that protection. Putin’s bloody invasion of a sovereign European nation is an incursion, much like Crimea — remember Crimea? — was an “uncontested arrival” instead of Anschluss. A civilian airliner was blown out of the sky just six weeks ago –—remember MH17? — and with more than 100 victims still unidentified the outrage has already dissipated into polite discussions about whether it should be investigated as a crime, a war crime, or neither.

This vocabulary of cowardice emanating from Berlin and Washington today is as disgraceful as the black-is-white propaganda produced by Putin’s regime, and even more dangerous. Moscow’s smokescreens are hardly necessary in the face of so much willful blindness. Putin’s lies are obvious and expected. European leaders and the White House are even more eager than the Kremlin to pretend this conflict is local and so requires nothing more than vague promises from a very safe distance.

Good, it didn’t seem like we were talking about the same thing.

Put your faith in Putin if you wish, but he won’t go nuke against the nuclear French, the nuclear British, the nuclear United States, and their commitments to NATO and to the troops he would be nuking.

Actually, quite a few of the Putin supporters must be happy that Obama is president since they want Putin to succeed. They consider that to be the new conservative American position. Putin wins. The US loses. And they’re happy.

Russia and the United States both have the capability of destroying each other with nuclear weapons. Neither Russia or the United States will risk this. However, the economic might of the United States and Nato nations make Russia pale in significance. Our industrial capacity can turn out all the weapons of war that the Ukraine needs.

We must give them the advanced arms they need to defeat a Russian invasion. I would much rather fight the Russians with our arms given to the Ukraine than fight them in Latvia, Estonia Lithuania or Belarus with our American soldiers.

I forgot to add the quote of President Obama, “After the election I can be more flexible.” Is Obama being flexible or is he being treasonous?

Kasparov was allied with Lemenov, the founder of the anti-Putin National Bolshievics (hybrid Commie Nazi party). Kasp is a joke or a fool.

Tsar Putin, his royal doucheness is a real NAZI

He even denies that former Soviet satellites are real countries or peoples.

breaking news: Ukraine returned captured Russian paratroopers and Russia returned 63 Ukrainian prisoners, Russia news sources say

Russia returning prisoners while denying they are even at war

Putin maybe a nazi but Kasparov allied himsel with Lemenov, founder of the banned in Russia National Bolshievic Party. Poor judgement on Kaspies part.

Putin criticized Ukraine for banning parties (commies)... how hypocritical!

More news: Food ban’s a boon for the Belarus fish industry: Moscow shelves full of it (hang on, Belarus doesn’t have a sea..!)

Obviously the ban on foreign food is a joke, they are just reimporting it from Belarus which imported it. Which.. almost everyone on Earth saw coming.

Putin is hypocritical. How does that excuse Kaspers being in a coalition party with neo nazis?

Kasparov ran for office and did political demonstrations with the National Bolshevik party. That is who would have been in his govt if he won the election in Russia. So this Kasp is either another looney chess player or has poor judgement.

Putin supporters have poor judgement too.

The man pretends that neighboring countries are fake and really just part of Russia.

He is delusional!

“Ukraine is screwed. And a good number of FReepers will cheer, because Putin “showed Obama who’s boss.””

He continues to show Obama who’s boss.

But not to worry. Once we figure out this abortion and gay marriage thing, we can get right on Ukraine and the middle east.

Obama has done his job very well indeed.

The job was to do nothing but focus the ire of of the "Right," whatever TF that is, on him, instead of on the Mission of Team Obama.

This hurts more than it should because while we are running around constantly telling each other how bad the Muslim Homo SOB is, the mission to wreak havoc goes on and on.

The problem ain't Obama. It's that there is no PROGRAM, NO PLAN, No PARTY, and NO LEADERS offering solutions. All we are saying is, "We ain't Obama."

Sorry. That ain't good enough.
